My brother told me this morning that Prince doesn't swear in his songs, and in EC, he says `funk'. Yes, I know there's sexyMF, but MF is a term. `Funk' is a good word to use. Look at `we can funk', from Grafitti Bridge, another fav song of mine too.

I think he could play songs like Erotic City but as instrumentals, though it's not beyond him to craft entirely new lyrics which don't make you cringe. He's done it a million times, think Space - Universal Love Remix or Undisputed - Moneyapolis Remix, to name a few...

He is saying funk in Erotic City. That's the original lyric. There is no
reason, in terms of cursing, that Prince can't perform the full version of
Erotic City.

My mistake. Thanks for correcting me with bold letters. I wouldn't have gotten the point otherwise. Also, although the ASCAP lyrics list the word as fuck, hasn't there always been an ongoing debate as to what he actually recorded?
When I listen to it in headphones - it sometimes sounds like funk and sometimes sounds like fuck.
