12th was the best main show yet (and my last show!)

Took my 2 sisters, and now my little sister is "in love!" as she keeps saying.

She said he's such a sexy little man! And he dances like a cool snake!

Highlights for me were:
Could not believe all the '1999' album songs he played on piano (Something In The Water, Delirious, Free) and I Would Die 4 U
Chelsea Rodgers full version (!) which was for my older sister - she loves it.
How Come U Don't Call Me full version (!) my little sister thought he was covering Alicia Keys and was surprised when i told her Alicia had covered Prince!
But the best moment was P coming back on with the lights gone up and half the people left to do his synth segment - HEAVEN! This really has made my sister a MAD MAD fan now! Playing opening lines from Mountains!
I was so glad he came back on, when the lights went up, I nearly left the building. My fave synth bit so far.
I'm so glad my sister is now converted to PURPLE! She wants to watch Purple Rain the movie with me tonight. She said she is in love! And she loves his style etc.
Great that Prince did a 1999 tribute on the piano - Something in the Water was being talked about a lot on this forum so now I REALLY believe we are influencing the setlist....

One final thought.

Prince in his casual clothes, with the arena lights FULLY UP.

Doing his synth segment with so much fun and spontanaiety. I don't think I can EVER EVER forget that feeling.

When the DMSR beat came on, I truly was one of the best moments of my life!

And when he kicked the stool over.

The energy in that room was so great. And how we went mad when we saw his box being carried back into the stage even AGES after the houselights had gone on and loads of people had already left.

I feel REALLLLY sorry for those that missed this special treat just cause they wanted an empty train carriage home on the Tube.

Did anyone else feel that some of the crowd were a little 'lost' when P played all those obscure-ish 1999 tracks during the piano segment?

I felt the applause was a little subdued for songs like Something in the Water Does Not Computer, and Free?
Maybe I just wasn't near to enough ORG'ers!?!?

My older sis and I were joking about CHELSEA RODGERS saying how funny it would be if he played it tonight cause it was her fave song from PE.

Just as I was explaining to he that he hasn't played it any of the times I'd already been, Prince came back on and played it.

It was such a cool moment, like he heard us

I didn't think Chelsea worked in the big arena - was much more fucky in Indigo. Think it was because Indigo full of freaks who already know it.
He was right - a new name does feel mighty fine....now for some fun - MWA HA HA HA

I feel you mate, im still buzzing - need sleep but head says no!!

The Piano set went on and on, little Red Corvette - amazing, forgot bout that one, he kicked off with it didnt he.

A lot of crowd singing as well with P stopping the band, and it sounded good.

Loved the piss taking too during satisfied - many ppl on here suggested he sings it on a main show - we were in fits

It was a shame because everyone - well, most people - who've heard the new album already - LOVE IT (ie people on here) but in the bigger arena crowd, being a minority, you couldn't hear us all screaming like loons.

Though - I was in B2 and everytime Shelby looked down to us i was screaming the words back at her and jumping up and down.

I took my friend with me tonight who has never seen Prince live and she was not disappointed!!

The show was ABSOLUTELY brilliant. I danced my socks off!!

And to the poor guy who got in the way of my overenthusiastic groove "Sorry about the punch in the face, but you really should look where you're going!"
biggrin

Can't get last night's show out of my head! Voice is cracked from so much screaming, body knackered from non stop dancing and can't focus on work at all! Did anyone else see the little blond girl, near the front who Prince pointed to during the gig? She was only about 10 or 11 and was so thrilled that he had noticed her!! (lucky girl, wish it had been me)!!!!!

Whatever u do, DO *NOT* leave the Arena until you hear the lady announce "Please leave the arena carefully etc." Even if the full lights have come up. Prince *WILL* come back on. Especially if the stagehands have brought out his synthesiser/piano again.

So many people missed out on the highlight of the show last night by rushing off when the lights came on.

Some of us were whooping it up big time on floor near him- Something In Water/ Free & Delirious were highlights of dates so far- I'm so happy he included them. Makes me feel all smug and devoted when he plays the Old Skool tunes and so glad that I 'discovered' him when he first released these classic songs.

I think last night's was the best show out of the 3 that i've been to. The final encore at the end where he came out looking all casual and did his stuff on the keys was great. Plus I was well positioned to be in his eyeline when he turnt awaw from the keys to look into the audience!!!

The real tell tale sign as to whether he's coming back is whether the lighting guys are still up in the rig. You could tell he was coming back as they started to get their ladders down and then pulled them back up again.

And also watch Prince's people as they did not move at all even when people were leaving.... I just remember the crowd going wild and because we could not see everyone was like whats going on then next minute with the house lights full on he comes strutting out a BIG smile on his face!!. It was my highlight of the night!!!
I heard that he would get fined £25,000 if he went past 11pm... he went swiftly off stage at 11pm on the dot in such style. Was most impressed!!

Last night was my first ever Prince live experience.

And having read the reviews on here, listened to live stuff, watched the DVDs etc. I remember thinking "this must be the best of his London shows so far".

I got everything I wanted, in all honesty. I think I almost cried when he hit that first note for All Along The Watchtower/Best of U. The piano stuff was outstanding (Something In The Water was out of this world, unbelievable!) and he pretty much kept the energy levels high throughout.

In fact, I got the impression last night was a performance to be put to DVD.....

All in all, a great first ever show for me! I loved the aftershow as well, despite him not showing.

Now I need sleep!! 5 and a half hour train journeys are tiresome!!
So look into the mirror, do u recognise some1? Is it who u always hoped u would become, when u were young?

Sorry you missed out. We were half way up the stairs when he strolled back on. My mate was saying "There's no way he'll come back on. It'll be a health and safety nightmare." How wrong she was lol
