Maceo seems to be taking more of a back seat on this tour.
He's almost just another member of the band. Wonder if he'll be around (with Prince, I mean) much longer? On the 18th @ the main show he was stood in front of me every time he was on, and I showed dude much love, for he's as much a legend as Prince. Now, then, who complements Prince better? Maceo or Eric Leeds (& don't any jokers pipe up about Najee...) "Had to get off the boat so I could walk on water..."

I won't be going to see him. As part of Prince's band I think he's great but as an individual artist he holds no interest for me really.

Agreed! Maceo shows are amazing, as the man himself says 'What we do is 3% Jazz, 97% Funky stuff!' The show will not be the same as him with Prince. Remember his roots in James Brown's band! Anyone who doubts the quality of his performance outside of a Prince concert would do well to listen to Life on Planet Groove - recorded live with Kym Mazelle and Candy Dulfer guesting. Very funky! I seen him all over, but I think the last time at the Barbican after ONA, he had with him Mr Greg Boyer and Mr Hayes too, well worth your 17.50...

saw this advertised yesterday at the O2.
Bet it'd be a good night but too much of a chore to travel from Norwich! Would go if Prince was gonna be there though :p I got more hits than Madonna's got kids!
