Anyone know anyone who works there? Maybe.... Thing is, a lot of the tickets are controlled by the promoter which is Aeg, i use ticketmaster/ticketweb to sell my event tickets and i can set the whole thing up , release new blocks of tickets, change event descriptions and prices without ever talking to anyone at ticketmaster... so even if you know someone there, there's a good chance they are just as in the dark as the customers.. Well they might have greater involvment, there is a dixie chicks documentary which shows the band and ( i think AEG) reps releasing tickets on ticketmaster U.S. monitoring some fast selling gigs and releasing more seats in blocks..
it gives you some insight into how it works.. also i think after doing this in the u.s. for years, Aeg have mastered how to sell out arenas, how to release tickets... (sell the less good tickets in the midst of all the hype, how announcing something as sold out creates MORE desire in people to go) we just need to be a lot more savvy as customers than we were this time, at least i know i do.. xxx | |
