Taxis outside the o2? Hello, i was hoping someone would be able to tell me if there are any taxis outside the o2 after the indigo2 gigs? I've been trying to work out the best way to get back to my hotel after the show.

Ask your hotel to give you the number of a reputable cab firm,

I've only been to one aftershow so far and when we were leaving the Indigo the taxi queue was very long with no taxi's!! I read somewhere else that you might be able to arrange/book a taxi in the club? Luckily we were staying in the Holiday Inn Express so we could walk back to our hotel - although there is a 24 hr bus service outside the Tube station which serves Greenwich as far as i am aware. What hotel are you staying in?

Local licenced taxies wait at one of the dropping off points, which is straight ahead of you as you exit the dome. Walk towards the outside stage thing with the big screen, walk past the trees that have been cut into a cube shape and then just to your right there is an area that taxies wait at. They are aware of the chucking out times so wait there automatically. Beats the black cab queue!

thats what i usually do. get a couple just in case, as on saturday nite the first cab i called said fine, then phoned back and said it would be about an hour wait. the second firm told me 10 mins, and the guy was in the area so called back a few seconds later get the number, put it in your phone, and dial it as soon as you are outside the indigo2, before you leave the dome, they will take thier time to come. then walk down to millenium way past the tube station and burger stand and arrange to meet the taxi near the bus shelters. it'll take a few mins to walk so it kills the time you have to wait you can wait in the huge line at the o2 to book a cab and then be told they are booked up, and they also charge more, so i don't advise it the hotels usually have a fixed fee to take you back, so you can find out in advance how much it will cost you

I'm going again this weekend and I'm not looking forward to the hour and a half wait for a taxi for a 10 min journey.
Fuck Travelodge for saying they were so near the Dome, but neglected to say they were on the other side of the River.

On Saturday when we entered the O2 there were venue staff handing out flyers with a list of minicab numbers on them.

Brilliant, thanks for the advice everyone, will probably get a couple of mini-cab numbers from the hotel. Thanks again for the help!

At the 28/8 aftershow just before the encore (guitar) came we went from the stage to the back of the Indigo2 and watched the encore from there.
That way we were first at the taxi stand and jumped in the first taxi in line! Thank God this ain't Monopoly
U'd make us all go back 2 start
