My daughter doesn't take kindly to my sarcasm. She has yet to understand that it is only vicious if it's meant that way. I like to call it gentle ribbing. And don't mention that her fella has a short leg to body ratio (he doesn't but it made me laugh when the missus mentioned it). She flips out if you mention anything that is personal to her. She'll learn hopefully that people can say quite harsh things about others they care for without there being any hint of, what's the word, oh I don't know, nastiness.

It's amazing how the older people on this forum think they're some kind of high and mighty legends simply because they're older. Apparently, this also means that every single teens taste in music sucks and even if they do listen to Prince they probably only listen to Purple Rain You really do seem to have missed my point here. My original post, as I've already stated, was tongue-in-cheek, but obviously the humour in the post and the subsequent responses from other Orgers has gone over your head. And I'd hardly call a few comments about a girl who works in our office an "attack" on your group!! Perhaps you should read what I actually put and note the black humour contained therein...and if that's not a concept you're familiar with, look it up. Unfortunately, though I my comment about being over-touchy was also in jest (hence the smiley faces) you seemed to have proved that one correct with your somewhat bitter reply. May I suggest you have a coke and a smile, and drop the whole "I'm a teenager, its me against the old folk" schtick; its been done before Nothing's gone over my head and I would be OK completely with the first post if you hadn't replied again when someone simply said they're not like that. I don't know how the "older people" on here expect us to know of Prince and his music when he blocks off every chance of getting through to young people in the first place. The best ways are through iTunes, Myspace, YouTube and radio and so far he's only on iTunes which isn't enough.

I told a 17 year old girl I know that I was going to see Prince and her reply was "Prince? Isn't he some dude from the 50s... y'know... like Elvis?"

i think the teenagers who do know who prince is are the ones that have been brought up with 80's music like from there parents while we keep our eyes, not on the things seen, but on the things unseen. For the things seen are temporary, but the things unseen are everlasting. - 2 Corinthians 4:28
