I dont really like PR that much. I mean, i like it, but only certain parts of it.

Much rather he sacrificed it for like When Doves Cry or another classic like LRC

I like it live, but it's not a song I actually play on the CD. I totally understand that on a "Hits" tour he has to play it every night for the one-timers, but it's not one I actually look forward to hearing on multiple dates. Controversy on the other hand - WOW! Can't get enough of that,

It's never been my absolute favourite but it's epic live, and it's his signature really isn't it.

The ones that really surprised me were:
U got the look - always been a favourite but I'd never hear it blasted out like that! Amazing, massive sound.

Sometimes it Snows in April - I've always loved this song, it was just lovely to hear live, with everyone singing along quite quietly

Controversy - wasn't expecting to hear this one at all, and musically,it was probably the high point of the show for me.
It's only mountains...

Purple Rain kills things stone dead as an opener. You need to build up to it.

I'm loving 'U Got the Look' and 'Controversy/Feel 4u'. 'Sometimes it Snows' was pretty special too.

Purple Rain is quite powerful when done live but I don't like how he's started bring the woohoohoohooo's in during the earlier parts of the song. It spoils it for me, they need to be saved for the ending.

As for what I've liked best, I really have enjoyed hearing Planet Earth and Guitar and can't understand why he hasn't played PE more often.

The one track he's played which I haven't previously liked on record is Controversy. I'm really enjoying the live version of this, it just sounds so much more complete. I also enjoy the twins robotic dancing during this song, they make me smile.

One song that I don't mind on record but think hasn't worked well live is Lolita. I didn't like the performance of it on American Idol and nothing I've seen at the O2 has convinced me that he should be playing it live.

He should be playing Fury, The Word and The One U wanna C though.
RIP sad

This song is always the bit when i go to the bar and get more beer to spill over people on the way back. I do like to try and take a quick photo with me phone at this point as well, most people don't notice 'cause they are singing along in a pub karaoke style.

I am often reminded at this point about how he was much better he was on the Nude Tour, and tell everyone sat around me about how ace Brum NEC was back in the day.

If he can end the show with PR would be nice..like an 18 minute edition..
And to make things classic , open it up with the piano medley..and bang..explode with guitar and blaze it around.. MY DREAMS..

I loved Let's Go Crazy as an opener on the 28th. Not really one of my favorites usually, but it worked so well live and got the crowd all excited for the whole show. I was on my feet the rest of the nite!

Whether or not you're a fan of Purple Rain, no one can deny its status as a rock anthem that will be remembered long after P is gone.

Did anyone go to 1 of the nites he did Party Man? That song means a lot to me because it's the first P song I ever heard when I was 8.

He did Guitar as an encore at the aftershow on the 28th. It was one of my highlights for the nite!

Let's Go just ain't happenin' for me live. It's too fast and I miss the crunch of the guitar and the off-key section of the extended version. It's still very good just doesn't make me wanna dance. Now the 'other' version of Alphabet is something altogether different smile "I can do country too!"

I really wouldnt want Nothing Compares 2 U as a finisher. Purple Rain would be alright in place of it, but i want a buzzing tune like Lets Go (which i got on the 18th cool) or even U Got The Look would be satisfying
