Then again, I had some annoying people lying to try and get to the front. There's the old "my mum's at the front" excuse and then they stop right in front of you and spend the rest of the night alone or with a boyfriend - and some really scary woman with flourescent green eyes under the lights, pretending that she went to the loo, only we were at the far right side of the stage compleetly in the wrong direction of the toilets. We'd been there since the beginning and she certainly did not leave where we were to go to the loo.

It just annoys me. These allegedly weak bladdered people, which if true is only because they're glugging down lager constantly (which both the lying girls had in their hads). I want to be at the front tomorrow and I'm going to the loo before finding my space and sipping on water slowly for the rest of the night. It's the only way.

That's what I did. I found it hard to move at all in the crowd anyway and I didn't have a drink or go to the toilet the whole time I was there! I did wonder where my mate disappeared to though when she went to the toilet, never to be seen again.....

I didn't dare go and look for her though!

Same thing happened to me on the 18th. My mate disappeared and didn't return. Only she was just "tired" and needed to sit down by a pillar. How can anyone be tired at a full Prince aftershow, especially when he was looking like that in that hat? Geez, get over it. I could have spent 10 hours standing up and not even notice if Prince was on stage.

That's a very aggressive attitude! It's dog eat dog on that floor and it really shouldn't be. What about the people who have queued for 3 hours and get caught short on the floor and absolutely cannot hold it. Should they really have to lose their place and face hostility from those in the crowd when trying to get back to the place they waited 3 hours for? There's room for everybody down there. People should chill out a bit and not be so hostile to others.

The poor honest people that are actually bursting and have to leave their friends suffer mainly because it's such an easy excuse for the liars making their way through when they've got there an hour later than everyone else and want to go back and forth to the bar.

If everybody just chilled out a bit it would make it more open for everyone, resulting for a more relaxed, calm atmosphere for all to enjoy in the way that it should be.

True - it's just hard to chill when everyone is coveting that spot at the stage. If I was at the back of the dancefloor behind a bunch of tall people I wouldn't be happy and I'd just go behind that bar at the back instead.

One thing I like about Brixton Academy is the sloped floor, but the Indigo is really a nightclub so I guess that's not possible.

not aggressive just brutally honest mate,u choose to drink before the show you choose to go to the toilet halfway through you deal with consequences...that's life simple as that.i dont piss off tho the bar or bog after standing 3 hrs at the front and expect to get back there thats just stupid and guess what ...i'm not stupid!

That's my point though. If everybody chilled out a bit and wasn't so aggressive and territorial people would be able to go and get a drink and go to the toilet if they wanted to without fear of losing their space or facing the retribution of others on the floor. For your information once I got my "space" on the floor (which wasn't near the front) I didn't move at all! I never went to get a drink or go to the toilet. But should that really be the way? I don't think so. People shouldn't be scared to go to the toilet. As I said before, there is enough room for everybody to see the show. There's no need or reason for people to be so aggressive.

Sounds like all the action was downatairs at the aftershow this time round! The first time I went to see him on the 28th we stood downstairs and the atmosphere was great and there were no fights, and Prince seemed to be looking in our direction.
Unfortunately on the 1st me and my friend were seated up the top of Indigo in which there are more seats than youd think and did not see any fighting ensued, so sounds like we missed out on the action.
Both nights were fab tho, but he put more effort in on the Saturday and seemed healthier and more lively. I'm going to see him on Sunday 9th as well!

I'm 6'3'. Unless I relegate myself to the back of the house, everybody behind me wants me to move somewhere else, in front of somebody else, who wants me to move somewhere else, in front of somebody else, who . . . .

You're funny wink I really don't have a problem standing at the back, I certainly would'nt dream of shoving my way to the front when I'm 6"1, thats just not on.

Well I'm sorted for the 21st anyway - sitting on Squirrelmeat's shoulders wink

I'd just seriously like everybody who turns up to an aftershow to be able to see, however tall or small they are or however long they've queued for. And to be able to go to the toilet or get a drink if they want rather than being too scared to move in case they lose their "space". Guess it's just too much to ask. You're nice and tall though. When Squirrelmeat's shoulders start to ache I think I might jump on yours.

Sorry, m'lady, I don't have a visa that permits me to hold 4-inch stiletto boots at Prince gigs on the other side of the pond. You'll have to find a British bootsman.

I'm not saying we should go to the back. Its just a lot easier for us to be considerate to short people.

Equally, tall people shouldn't be excluded from getting in there because of their height, but there's a happy medium.

Personally, I think my height is a massive bonus. It lets me avoid all the crazed aggressive fams at the front, by standing 10 feet behind them.

But if were being brutally honest, you always get the shovers too. You want the front spot to remain closed (no toilet breaks!) but you also want people to stop shoving into you. You ain't going to get it both ways.

The only way it will ever change is if the people at the front chill out, which ain't going to happen because most of them are obsessive fams.
