guardian article on vip tickets..

http://music.guardian.co....16,00.html

one objection right off the bat.. the headline on the link to this page says

RICH PRINCE FANS ANGRY THEIR VIP TICKETS AT 02 AREN"T VI ENOUGH.

http://music.guardian.co.uk/

now, i like the guardian, but that's pretty unrepresentative of the true situation.

I agree, that's a shitty linking headline!
The article itself is ok though, it's good to see the 'ticket debarcle' getting an airing in the press. Why am I not surprised that AEG had no comment.
The bit I didn't like was 'Why you wanna treat us so bad, fans ask Prince' - I personally don't feel like it's P that's treated me bad, just the ticket companies (though I know others feel differently). I feel priveleged that he's here, but at this rate he may never want to come back to the UK again. cry

I think the reporter did a brilliant job on reporting about the VIP tickets. He has only said what we said. Do you think he could have made things stronger? I certainly think it will get read and people will take notice - although I am prejudice because I am Shirley Renshaw who he refers to - thought he would have asked Glyn for his comments - sure Glyn would have put things across very well and probably in stronger terms. At least we tried Glyn didn't we? lol

Well, i think the article is fine, the RICH Prince fans thing though really is misleading and doesn't reflect the amount of sacrifice people made to get to these shows and the true circumstances of a lot of these people.. it's rather demeaning... It some what reduces it down to a bunch of high income people having a whinge, which in most cases is clearly not the case...

I don't really know what i could have added to the article, i think you did a good job, and from some of the threads it does seem to have had some effect.

so .. GOOD WORK TEAM!

lol If people think Prince fans are rich I think they are wrong, it has been a great sacrifice to me, and I am sure most fans, to raise the money to attend so many shows and aftershows and, in particular, the VIP show. biggrin

Its a good article. Could go a bit deeper with more detail though. The part about Rich Fans needs to go. I find it very insulting and misleading. Part of the VIP problem is that most of the people who got screwed ARE NOT rich.
