Cheaper car park

When we went before we went in the £20 car park, I've heard theres one for about £4 nearby, does anyone know:-

1. Where it is?
2. How much is it?
3. Is it ok to park there if going to a'show as well?
4. Is it safe to walk to after a'show for 2 women?

Cheers smile

Would the Holiday Inn car park only be available for those staying at the hotel though?

we tried that but when we bought a parking ticket for a day in the hotel it said it was only till midnight. So if you're going to the aftershow I wouldn't park there.

Apart from £15 is there any difference between car park 1 and car park 4?

I've parked there each time I've been, the only difference I can see is that it's much nearer the O2, and is much cheaper! wink

There really is no difference - you can park there all night for £5 instead of £20 and it's right next to the venue.

That's not Car Park 4 - it's the North Greenwich station car park. Don't park in there because as you say you will be clamped after 11.59 pm. Anyway it's £6 so it
s not even worth using it if you are definitely leaving before midnight.

Car Park 4 is further on - towards the QEII pier. Just follow the signs.

It's £5 "all day" which means from when you get there until you leave even if you get there before midnight and leave after midnight.

It's as near as you can get to the Dome too smile

I found an NCP car park on the web which I assume the same car park

Opening hours
Monday-Friday :11:00-24:00
Saturday-Sunday 24 Hours.
Monday-Friday SeasonTkt only 01am-11am no guarantee after 11

So it seems if you go at the weekend you can park all night but you can't Monday to Friday.

Can't be - I used it Friday and Saturday for both Aftershow parties.

Anyway, the tickets don't mention NCP anywhere - just 02.

Edit: just looked on the ncp.co.uk website and it looks like the NCP you are talking about is the North Greenwich Station car park. Since Car Park 4 is cheaper anyway and seems to be open any time the venue is open at the moment I'd recommend trying it first.

Oh yes I see now. Car park 2 is the NCP one. Car park 4 is by the coach park.
Is there much room in car park 4?

The first night I went (31st August) we thought we were being clever using the station car park until we got tickets for the Aftershow party and had to move the car before midnight. Car Park 4 had plenty of spaces then. Also, the next night I just went down to the Aftershow party at around 12.45am and again there were plenty of spaces.

Maybe it's not so easy to get spaces in Car Park 4 if you turn up earlier - anyone know?

Hi! I went last night and just parked in the Station car park, closer than any of the O2 car parks and cost me £3!! so glad I didn't prebook at £20! That was a weekend price though, sure its dearer in the week.
All pretty safe and plenty of security for after show as still within the dome and just a short walk from main show.

Seems the best thing to do is not prebook. Turn up and try car park 4. If no spaces and only staying for the main show car park 2. If staying for the aftershow or if others full then car park 1.

Good value but it's not closer than Car Park 4!

Just so no one gets the wrong idea Car Park 4 is fine for the Aftershow too - if there are spaces use Car Park 4 (assuming it stays at £5 all night and they don't jack the price up!).

I'm going to the show and aftershow. I really like the idea of saving GBP 15,-- on the parking price, but on the O2 website (http://www.theo2.co.uk/web/guest/parking) it says:

If there are no arena events on the day you visit, it is not necessary to book a space and parking is available at the rate of £5, all day. While there are no restrictions on this rate on non-event days, this rate expires at 6pm on an event day.

As far as I understand this is for the Parking 1 lot as well as the Parking 4...
Does this mean they give you a rough time when you try to collect you car at 3 AM ?
This is the life. Everyone has to be somewhere, I am here...........

What you'll have to do is see if Car Park 4 is open and if it says £5 as you go in. Alternatively talk to one of the stewards or press the help button on the ticket machine in Car Park 4 and talk to the attendant. There's no guarantee the set up will be the same as it has been for me and others but I'd say the chances are good that it will be.

If the worst comes to the worst just put it in the £20 spot - after your concert & aftershow I guarantee you won't be bothered about the extra £15 anyway!

There is a free car park, and you can park allnight too, at the Greenwich cinema. It is about 15 to 20 minutes walk to O2, it is just off Peartree Road. I leave the A20 exit for Greenwich ferry/Greenwich not the one for the O2, and go under the underpass bearing left and it is right there. Loads of spaces and people going to Prince there too, one bloke I met who is going to all of the 21 nights. It is near Bugsbys way, I found out about it on from another thread.

I parked at P4 last sunday. When I came there there was a suppost that stopped me and asked me if I was going to the concert. My wife said yes (oeps, mistake!). He then said I had to park at P1. We told him we wanted to park at P4. He told us it was not allowed! We asked him by whom because there were no signs saying we couldn't park there... Then we said we also wanted to visit the cinema as well and we wanted to see if there we still tickets for the concert. (It's nice to hide behind the fact that you are foreign and do not understand the language that good razz ) And then he said we could park in P4....

After the kick-ass after show we collected the car and only paid £5.

It was the great advise in this thread that saved me £15. Thanks guys.

And if you still need to park at P4 for the remaining concerts. Just say your going for the cinema. It 'll save you a lot of discussion lol

I parked in car park 4 on Sunday - the steward did stop us and ask where we were going - make sure you say the cinema or a meal - and we went straight in - loads of spaces, £5, a bit nearer than car park 1 and less traffic on the way out. Definately use again
