september 1st

thought i would start a thread where we can all collect our thoughts of last nights shows. and i would like to set the ball rolling by saying that it was a fantastic night!

when he came on after 9, i thought we were in for a tame show; i couldn't have been more wrong! this was my 4th trip, but the 1st time when i agreed that he had too many hits!

by the end of the night, i was reeling by how much material he had gone through. his set list was simply sublime, and he was in a mood i haven't seen yet this tour. don't get me wrong, he's been in good moods, but yesterday he was just in the mood for something special, and he delivered!

and the composition of the night was the best i've seen. the track arrangement meant that the atmosphere was sustained throughout, and i even found myself loving black sweat (which i've never rated highly as a live track).

and then he took the party on to 3121, and i went to my first aftershow. i had tickets to another, but he didnt turn up! however, this show was easily worth £50, so i'm more than happy to have parted with the cash. it was an amazing experience, he played some fantastic music and the crowd was more than up for it.

i left the aftershow 9 hours ago, and i'm still wearing a massive grin. i will never forget last night, it was a dream.

and to think he's playing this well now, imagine the show he's going to put on for the last night?!

i, for one, can't wait.....
with love, sincerity and deepest care.....

You know what, I could have written that myself! Totally agree with everything you've said. Amazing. You could just tell from the first five minutes of the main show that it was going to be something special. Everything was just "right". Hard to put into words. Just a vibe. Prince was up for it, the band were up for it, the crowd were up for it. It was a faultless performance. Fantastic night. I'm still smiling too. Gonna be hard to wipe that grin off my face for a while I can tell you.

I'm also lucky enough to be going to the main and aftershows on the 21st but you know what, after last night, if I never saw Prince again, the memory of last night's shows will live with me forever.

Oh My Fucking God (excuse the language)

We just got home from a few hours sleep and the 200 mile drive, but we are still speachless.

The Main show was the bomb! The best of the 4 I've seen (and all those from the years b4), and it helps so much when the crowd around you are psyched and groovin all nite. Man, that Aftershow just blew me over though - the single most incredible nite of my life.

HAS ANY1 MENTIONED WHEN PRINCE CAME OUT ONTO THE BALCONY BEFORE THE AFTERSHOW AND SMILED AND WAVED AT US ALL ON THE DANCEFLOOR? SOMEBODY WHO WAS UP IN THE BALCONY MUST HAVE HAD THE FRIGHT OF THEIR LIVES. I KNEW WHEN HE DID THAT IT WOULD BE AN INCREDIBLE NIGHT!

We got 3 encores in the Aftershow too (or was it 4 - damn it was funky), and I'd like to think I was one of the few who started the chanting (ooohh wayyyy oooh whooooaaaaa ohhhhh) from the middle of the crowd (he he he). Me and my girlfriend were the annoying ones in the middle with the symbol tamborine shaking our asses off!!

Oh, and who was the person with the giant purple sparkly cut out symbol!!!???? That was so cool!

The crowd in the Indigo 2nite was incredible - such a privaledge to b there with all you guys. YOU ROCKED!!

Final word to Prince - we love you. Thanku for those memories. They will live with me 4ever!

Oh, and forgot....

will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas (Is that his name) - took the stage in the main show and the aftershow for a short segment - SO FUNKY!

Hey - I put a thread on here at something like 4 a.m. this morning about last night - main show and aftershow and I defo put the bit about Prince appearing on the balcony at the aftershow. Brilliant. And he did 4 encores at the main show. Main show would have to be the best show I've ever been to. Ever. Not just out of the three 02 shows I've been to so far.

I still can't contain myself - That was the funkiest night I've ever had.

The purple sparkly cutout symbol was cool - but I was directly behind the lady who was holding it up - and for a lot of the show I had to watch Prince through the hole of the symbol. Didn't stop me enjoying it though.

Wasn't that different to yours actually so we both interpreted our experiences in similar ways last night!

4 those who were there, and those who were not, I captured something for those memories

...and I almost got thrown out of the Indigo for trying LOL

The support slot

2 Views from block 112 (we were right next to the railings overseeing the band entrance tunnel - almost saw P getting into his box!!

Our view of the stage at the Indigo

And the only shot I cracked off of P before getting a rollocking from the security guard!! He was nice tho - let me off with a slap on the wrist

My girlfriend and I were to your left, before Prince came on, we were right next to you (I said to my girlfriend 'god, he spent a lot of money on that tambourine, but it does sound good'!). As the concert went on, we sort of drifted forward and toward the middle.

lol lol You're too kind!! That was (still is!) us. Kristina almost 6ft, and Swedish. Me shorter (of course!), skinny, polka dot shirt..! Yeah, was dancing a lot whilst the DJ was playing before the man came on stage!!!

Ah, wish we'd said hello to you now! We're going again on 16th, so maybe then?!

Oh my god, what an amazing night. My 3rd main show and last nights was easily the best. Then my friend managed to get us free tickets for THAT aftershow. Just amazing, managed to get right to the front and met some really cool people, thanks for a good night! Oh, and When U Were Mine, that was the highlight of night right there. Got home at 5am still buzzing!
...shall we go back?...let's go

AHAH!!! It was you. Damn - we should have introduced ourselves!! I caught some glimpses with both of you during the show, but it never crossed my mind you were an orger (and a quaker maybe). Me and Kel said b4 the night that we would try and hook up with some peeps, but just got so blown away by the show that we never did sad

No, I remember you clearly now - polker dots and all. You started dancing as soon as we setup camp on the floor, and yes, I recall seeing you guys had drifted forwards during the gig.

Man - we're off on hols in a week, so no more shows for us. I was contemplating going this Thursday, but it aint gonna happen I think. 4 Shows, 3 Aftershows and I still need a fix....but we're left with amazing memories. I hope you get lucky again on the 16th wink

thanks for the pics, brings the memories flooding back, just got up a few hours ago, and that ole sinking feeling is setting in, which I guess is the sign of having a great weekend

Don't worry - I'll be sleeping with my tamborine now, if only to make up for the fact that Kel bought the bloody Prince pillow case confused

holiday or Greenwich? holiday or Greenwich? We're off on a 2 week cruise of Europe, so I'm thinking of inviting Prince along so he can play in the on-board theatre every night just for me cool
