Pre Concert Org meet up 3rd, 4th, 5th - details

As Prince Org social secretary for the Hammersmith shows I take the opportunity to invite NPGMC members attending the ONA shows to the Great Org Meet Up. The details are:

3rd - Weatherspoons pub near the Apollo at 1pm
4th - Weatherspoons pub near the Apollo at 1pm
5th - Weatherspoons pub near the Apollo at 1pm

Its so simple, Ive got a mate from the US to supply us with the music later inside the Apollo, so it should be fun.

If you work for the NPGMC (I know you will be in town) come along also, but leave your card behind the bar.

Mr7

I might catch you there. Depends if there is a steadily rising queue outside the Apollo!

Exactly, the pub meet up may move quickly to the queue when we lose our self control.

Eggy - bag the table
Mr7 - bag the space in the queue
Prince (your have the easy part) - turn up

Consider my task done!
Can't wait to see you guys, should be a laugh.

Hopefully we can entertain ourselves in the queue, a major reason for meeting some peeps before hand. I don't want to be standing tapping my foot for 2 hours in a line!

I know you buggers will not be in Wetherspoons by the time I arrive in London on the 4th. So I re-iterate "I will see you in the queue"! wink save me a beer (Boddies or weak lager - lightweight alert) and a martini (Dry Martini and lemonade for the better half) in plastic glasses of course. smile
Just somewhere in the middle,

Not wanting to be a "party-poop", the rendezvous sounds like a good larf, but I wonder if the queue might already be growing by this time. A sneak preview of the Apollo doors and people are going to favour standing in a formal single file fashion for 4 hours over a pint in a weatherspoons. If I may motion an amendment as a backbencher, How do you all feel about a greasy spoon brunch (with a pint of course!) followed by queue assessment followed by weatherspoons? You could always assign a runner to assess queue developments periodically.

I am only a Saturday nighter, so Thursday and Friday could provide much information on the potential situation for the weekend. However Saturday is always going to be different.

Meeting up in the pub sounds good.

Are we going to get a situation where the saddo saps are going to ignore the fact that we all have special tickets to let us in a 5pm. and instead, start queueing at something like 5am so they can get their tongues further up Princes arse?

We all want to the see the show. Get a life. Is there any point me saying this? There are going to be 20 people there by 11am aren't there? And then everyone one will join the queue 4 hours early in case they end up at the back...

Dear oh dear...immaturity rules!

Why is everyone obsessed with getting to the front row, even 15 rows back your gonna get a superb view, whats the problem.

Everyone is different; hell, life would be boring if we were all the same so can I suggest that people should let people do whatever they wish to do. So long as it's not hurting you why should you be bothered if some want to get there at 5am or whatever time. Does it really matter?

If it all turns to shit over one thing or another don't say we didn't try and keep it together! mr.green

Queuing is not my main concern, although it is stupid to get there so early. I'm guessing most people don't stay seated during the concert, in which case I do feel bad for the short people stuck at the back. It's probably worse to be far over to the side though,

I'm more worried about attention seekers spoiling the soundcheck.

I will see you all in Weatherspoons at 1pm Friday and Saturday. I will of course check out the queue situation before going for the beer BUT agree with Squirrel Meat on this. Personally I will still be closer than ever before (in 9 Prince gigs)

We could always take it in turn to leave Weatherspoons on a queue recon (with mobile phone) and if the queue is starting to look silly stay there and call the pub group to come and join?

Given that we have all got seat numbers written on our tickets, is there any real point in rushing to get in as quick as possible?? If any body is in my place God knows I am gonna kick up one hell of a stink!!! After what we all went through to get these tickets I wouldn't expect anything less from anyone else!

Also, anybody have any idea what sort of stuff will be on sale at the gig? Have to get my overdraft ready wink

I don't think we have seat or ticket numbers - Isn't it General Admission?

Rather queue than drink beer? Weird! If ya a club member then whats the point in queing? Were all gonna get a good enough seat. I dont really mind if its some rows back... I cant say I am that desperate to have Princes perspiration cover my face.

I will have a few relaxing beers with anyone else who isnt that desperate to see the lines on Princes face... Much more relaxing and a better build up...

See anyone who may be there in the pub at 1pm Thursday...

See y'all there xxx

ANy Birmingham people going?

Surely if you get there any someone is sitting in your seat you can get them to move.

So, as you say, what is the point going to queue early if you are a NPGMC member?

Seat numbers? Who got a seat number through the club? I thought it was this will call thing for us lot...

General release get seat numbers outside of the club area I thought. But club tickets are a kind of first come first serve thing no? If not, how dya know ya seat number? All I got was a booking number!

I think Shockadelica means they have bought Premium £65 tickets from Ticketmaster or similar site. These will be for a specific seat number but will not be in the front 10 or 15 rows that are set aside for NPGMC members. This will be a sit anywhere type of affair.

I agree with a lot of you guys. It really doesn't matter to me whether I am in the front row or the 15th. I will be going directly to the queue however, because I don't think I am going to get to Hammersmith a lot before 5pm. Much as I'd love a pint (or more!) first. smile

But seriously, we're already garanteed good seats, I'll be at the pub on Saturday. I've got to work on the Thursday 'till at least 4pm. And I'm not going on Friday ! sad

Ah, ok.

As you say, does it really matter if you're right down the front or a wee bit further back? I think not.

Does it really matter if you get pissed before going in? Yes. smile

I'll be there on the 4th. Flying in from Turkey where I currently do my thing, on the 1st. I'm not a club member so I'll be in the pub 'till general admission time. Hope to meet up with some of you guys and gals.

Maybe not if you're over 6ft... How high up is the stage in the London Apollo? Are the seats on an incline or what?

The view at the Apollo is great from wherever you are, there's a great incline and the seats are also offset each row.

Mind you, I'm 6 foot 5 so I'm fine ! smile

Seriously though, unless you want to be right up close to the short-guy then its not a prob having a few beers beforehand ! After being at the front in Brixton where my girlfriend pointed out that you can see his penis I'm mentally scarred and will deliberately be a few rows back !!!

I'll be there early Saturday but will have to work Thursday / Friday so won't be there til around 4.30-5.00ish.

Perhaps I should make an offer, take out a subscription to Uptown Magazine or order Turn it Up 2.0 at the pub beforehand and get a free beer !?!

I'm coming from Pittsburgh,Pa for the three London shows... I've seen 2 ONA shows in the US.. I'm 5'4". There is a difference being in the front. I'll stop at the pub. I'm coming alone and would love to meet everyone. But, respectfully, I want to be at the man's feet. I was front row for Atlanta and it is an experience like no other.
Peace n luv to you all. See you there!!!

I've been to this venue a hundred times. You get a great view from every row!

I was there a few months ago for "Bottom" live, and I was about 25 rows back. The view was brilliant.

Even short people can see!
