Most shows attended this time round

Has anyone out there bought tickets and attended all 21 shows. If not what is the most shows that you have gone to.

I think that irishwolfhound is going to 18 shows (according to one of his posts), if that is correct can anyone beat that?.

Thinking back on previous tours in the UK by Prince. Has anybody a list of these and the years that they took place. I would be interested to see how many times he has toured the UK, I have seen 5 of these, Wembley Stadium (year unknown), Earls Court (Diamnond & Pearls Tour - 1992), Wembley Arena (Gold Experience tour - 1995), Hammersmith Odeon (ONA tour-2002) and at the O2 (2007). Can anyone help.

I went to Wembley stadium in '93
Wembley arena in 95
Wembley arean and Brixton in 98
Hammersmith twice in 2002

So far I've been to 7 shows and 3 aftershows at the O2. Got tickets for 2 more shows and 1 more after. Plus I'll most likely be going to the main and after on Thursday.

I've seen a couple of people posting that they're going to all 21 nights but can't remember their names.
RIP sad

I got tickets for all 21, but I decided to pass some last minute.

Will problably go to between 9 and 12, and about 8 aftershows.

i'd love to know how many people were members of the npgmc back then/how profitable it was

it certainly wasn't the most practical thing, i had dial up at the time, and had to leave my pc on overnight to download the ahdio shows!

but it made my long time dream of going to an aftershow come true....i guess we're spoilt now!...how many of the aftershows has he played at this time?...i've been to 5 this time, and he's made an appearance at 3 of those

but i never could afford the week long celebrations at paisley park sad

There's no way in the owrld i'd have ever got to an aftershow in the past. They were always the un-achievable. Travelling from N. Wales meant u saw the show and then headed home. Chances were if he played an aftershow we wouldn't have a clue where it was and we wouldnt hear til the next day anyway. I'd have loved to have been a member of npgmc, just to have been at a soundcheck!! I can rember as a 15 yr old how exited i felt arriving at wembley in 86 and hearing him doing a soundcheck while I was outside. But your point about the aftershows is spot on, i think we're spoilt now. I went to 1 show at o2 and aftershow and was lucky enough to see him but if he hadn't shown I'd have thought 'never mind' seems to me that most expext him to be there every time now.

Prince inviting fans to the soundcheck must have been a first. I have a feeling that the only way you could get those tickets was through the fan club. Am I correct is my memory playing tricks on me.

How many fans attended the soundcheck, how long does it last for and did Prince turn up.

yea, i've heard a few people saying how much fun it was not knowing if he was going to play an aftershow or not, hearing a rumour that he might be playing at some club across london somewhere, paying £50 for a cab then paying £50 to get in...

these people are obviously masachists!

i think the o2 set up, while not perfect, is fantastic.

I can't really understand the people saying that prince must be going through the motions playing so many shows in one place...the alternative is that he spends hours on a bus travelling from town to town to play in arenas that probably look the same as the last...he must be so fresh/well rested compared to a typical tour....and there must be more time to rehearse...not to mention that he must be making substantially more coin, if only because they don't have to set up that stage in each town!

sorry, ranting! i think i should go to bed

damn i feel lucky to be living in the uk right now though!

rant away.

Yes we are lucky right now, a few years ago this would be unheard of yet in the last 2 months we've had a free cd, a whole tour and 21 aftershows, even if not all attended by Prince and some still whinge!!

yea, it was through the npgmc . $99 and you got a ticket for the main show in the first few rows, entrance to the soundcheck, and entrance to the aftershow(if there was one)

though the aftershow i went to they still charged us when we went in...they said the proceeds were going to charity, but i'm not convinced!

the sound checks did feel slightly rehearsed...kind of as if it was a post soundcheck soundcheck if that makes sense...they only lasted a few songs....i remember him doing empty room, days of wild, poplife, and question of you/falling...he did come and speak to us briefly too...i'd guess there were maybe 40 people there

damn this is bringing back memories!

Wish I had got a ticket. You gotta tell us more about the soundcheck itself, I imagine you would have been at the front of the stage, quite intrigued with your comment about he spoke briefly. Tell us more and bring back the memories.....
