Sitting at home tonight, I actually felt relieved not to be winging my way to the O2 again! I flipped on the V+ box, and watched Wednesday's episode of Heroes and I was acutally glad to be home, instead of making the usual trip from Cambridgeshire to London! Whats happening to me!!!!??? eek

Originally, I was going to all 21 shows. I decided to water that down to 12. Much as I'm loving having Prince down the road, I think seeing so many dates so soon, I'm beginning to lose my appreiciation for the individual gigs.

The shows are fantastic, and I'm sure I will look back and say, "I should have gone to all 21", but the reality is, I think I'm going to cut back to only two more shows, so that I will apprieciate them more.

I'm now so familiar with the sets that I can follow every one of Princes band commands and signals within the set! Its like being told how a magic trick is done.

Worst still, when I play Prince in the car now, I've started to do the Twinz dances! If you see a guy drving along the M11 in a black Merc doing strange robotic movements, then you know thats me listening to Controvery!

Prince, I know I don't have to watch big brother to have an attitude! I know there are so many hits and so little time. I know that London is funky. And I know we ain't ready for Erotic City! lol

My body doesn't seem to handle the tours as well anymore, and this is the easiest for me to follow by far! Anyone else loving the fact that P is here, but struggling to keep up with a Purple guy much older than them!?!? biggrin

Oh, and by the way....I can't wait until my next show.....its like crack.....

this is a FANtastic thread, Squirrel you have hit the nail on the head err we are all in self denial, time for PA not AA, if by some act of GOD i make it to the the shows on the 21st, we all have to meet up, put the remaining coins we have left, rent out the INC brassaire or better rent out a clipper for the after aftershow (any orgers who were on the clipper this morning at about 4.30am will know what I am talking about) headlp
If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.

Finiding the kiss link a little too obvious now, but still cried through Sometimes!!

there was a piano set tonight then?

biggrin He played a solo piano set for about 20 minutes, and followed it up later with an awesome solo keyboard set inc, DMSR, SOTT, INTRO erotic city, and loads of of others that my head is still spinning from.

The show was sooo different than on opening night which was mainly guitar.

Oh, he played bass too.

Will I Am from the black eyed peas did a two minute cameo which was weird eek

i'm worn out, not princed out, and going to all the shows and organising work, travel, accomodation, etc, shows commitment, planning and dedication, which are very desirable skills to an employer

u think i'm crazy? u're probably right. but i'm gonna have fun every motherfucking nite!

we are now halfway thru the tour and he still keeps introducing new songs and surprises that he hasn't played previous nites in london, like 1,000 hugs and kisses, and let's go by the cars, this weekend alone. and what an aftershow on saturday! thats the kind of show that makes it all worthwhile

oh, and i've almost finished hereos season 1, might watch the last few eps tonite. great show!

I agree with the whole not going to that many shows or they loose their appeal especially the mainshows, but last night didn't go the mainshow and feel like I missed out on one of the better ones, so thinking even though I can't afford to, gonna have to do the remaining mainshow's just incase... he's plays a one off track like 'Joy In Repition' and still need to hear 'Anotherlover...' live. I want (or should I say need) a few more hits of the afterpartys but it costs so much to get home afterwards that I can't do that many more but after missing this Tuesday 28th Aug, I can't risk missing anymore. Guess I'm lucky I live in London so need to make the most of that.

Funny saying it's like being addicted to crack, Last night I was lurking outside Brixton tube station at 9pm to meet an orger to buy an afterparty tix (thanks Nimbus), thinking hhmmm this is not at all like the behavious of a drug addit and I'm actually starting to lie to people about where I'm goin, as people are starting to think I'm loosing it. Guess I can go into rehab on Sept 22nd (not that I'm gonna be able to afford to) razz

I have two more to go to and I'm happy with that to be honest (will be total 5). Prince must be so super fit I don't know how he's doing all of these shows, I really don't. I went on Friday night and last night and I'm completely knackered today. I've nearly lost my voice and muscles are aching all over. And I only WATCHED! I'm just so looking forward to the last show on 21st. That's "the one" for me. Will look out for you on the M11!

Nice thread man!!!
He really is like crack, we're all his slaves!
My obsession was cooled down a bit, untill i saw the 28th aftershow....
Somebody help me.

my husband is seriously wondering what has happened to me since August 1st (well - ok - since the tickets went on sale!) - we've been together 13 years and I don't think I've been this bad - though I was FAR worse before I met my husband. Now it's all come flooding back - the total OBSESSION I had with Prince when in my teens (god - my bedroom was a sight to behold) - this summer I've almost felt like a teenager again! Anyway - have promised husband that once Prince has gone home - I'll go back to worshipping him and not some other guy. The office manager at work said other day "but I always thought you were quite normal" - so it's offical at work - they think I'm mad! I have to miss the 21st - last show for me on 16th - not sure how I'm going to cope really - will be some serious COLD TURKEY going on!
If anybody asks you, I belong to Prince....

I can't get enough Prince at the moment. None of my mates or workmates can balieve I travelled to London (from Edinburgh) for 2 shows. If I told them about some of you guys going to 10-12 shows, god knows what they would say.

I REALLY need to get back down for another show. 21st September maybe?? I'd probably have more chance getting SARS than getting a ticket for that night. Still.....never say never.

I regularly update my friends (all of whom are going/have gone to at least one show) with summaries of what's going on via email. One response I got a couple of days ago was:

"Mate, are you sure you’re going to be alright once this tour is over? If you do end up getting depressed, and feeling as if there is a gaping, bottomless, chasm of nothingness where the funk used to be, please don’t do anything crazy – Samaritans are only ever a phone call away."

Since his attendance at the aftershow on Saturday, I received this:

"If prince comes to london again I may join you in seeing every show possible!"

Addiction is contagious!

I'm only doing 6 shows and 3 aftershows - 1 of each to go now, but maybe more if the circumstances are right. That's nothing compared to you guys, but seriously, am I the only one missing him already? I just don't want him to piss off and not come back for another 5 years *sobs*

I bought great tickets to 13 main shows (and 8 aftershows) in the ticketmaster free-for-all a few weeks ago, and after 7 I'd had enough of the arena show. I thought the analogy with seeing how a magician does his tricks was very telling. I was getting a bit bored. I saved my ticket for the final night and sold the rest on.

I'm now regretting it, and I've started mournfully checking ticketmaster all over again! Just 1 main show and 3 aftershows left. Missing him already...

Not sure I like the police enough to go and see them on saturday night. At £90 each its a bit steep. Some good seats still left for that show though.

Bit of a schlepp to Bmingham from Cambridge though isnt it?

I just lied to my boss to go to Thursday's aftershow. I asked for Friday off so I could travel down to see my mum for the weekend for her birthday. OK, it IS her birthday, but she's buggered off to a wedding somewhere and I couldn't see her even if I wanted to smile

I also didn't tell my Dad I went again last Friday and Saturday. I have no idea why. He thinks I'm out just clubbing with my friends, even though that's totally not my scene since I don't drink much and hate most of the crappy music in most places. He knows I've been to Prince at least 3 times anyway.

About an hour and a half.

Just watched two VIP tickets (£300 face value each) for tonight.....go for £99 for two on ebay! The Police VIP includes a sit down three course meal, free drinks, front 5 row seats and a limited edition goodies!
