Tonight's show was sprinkled with MAGIC!!! Howdie folks,
I've just risked life, limb and driving licence to get home after tonight's concert! First off, if there was a sneaking suspicion that the concerts were losing some magic due to their dwindling duration, tonight set the record STRAIGHT. He made my night when the intro to Question of U cranked up, then toyed with me by giving us The One. There were 3 encores tonight but the final one was a three-parter: Nothing Compares 2 U, then a synth bit (with Doves by the way) and then a finale of Let's Go Crazy. I got caught out a couple of times as he went past the 11pm mark tonight! I'd say he came on at 9.10 off at 11.05. He was in a really good mood tonight, loving every second of it. The crowd were very good and the set-list was pretty well judged to keep people in the mood. I'm sure the setlist in its entirety will appear, but I can barely remember my own name at this point so that's someone else's job. In short, amazing. And I'm eating as I type here getting ready to pick up friends and head back for the Aftershow. God, I LOVE THIS TOUR! And I especially love living around the corner from the O2! Chris. I'm confused did he sing any of Question Of U, or was just the intro played. Did all of The One get sung? RIP

Was expecting tonight to be a good one as last night was only average. The red suits last night were great though as were the twins skin coloured shorts and leggins.
Im guessing tonights aftershow is gonna be right up there. Looking at the time im severely tempted to risk coming along but am watching Goldeneye on ITV2 and think i shouldnt overdo the Prince thing. Hope everyone that goes gets a fabulous show!!! Oh and housequake are reporting 1999 and take me with you as the opening tracks for the show... the guitar is the best instrument in the world!

He played the intro only and then handed the guitar to his tech and sang The One. He did pretty much full lyrics (I think he had trouble remembering them at one point) and tried to turn it into Fallin' - the old medleys come back to haunt, eh? He then passed the Fallin' vocal over to Marva King who did a slightly better job at remembering lyrics but not great either! I was really jonesing for Question of u to be played. He really didn't hammer the guitar like he has in the last few shows but this song would have cried out for a good guitar thrashing! "What did the five fingers say to the face?" The screens said there were tickets still available. He's bound to play and his energy tonight means it'll be off the hook. I can't see him surpassing Tuesday but as a Prince & The Band Aftershow, I think it'll be magic. "What did the five fingers say to the face?" SLAP!! -- Rick James, habitual line-stepper.

Not that spring to mind. He did some nice piano work on LRC - or the intro and first lines then he segued it into SISIA. I'll have a think at the Aftershow and I'll post something when I return from that. Gotta go! "What did the five fingers say to the face?" SLAP!! -- Rick James, habitual line-stepper.

Yeah enjoy... i hope tonight aftershow is great for those that are there.
Im gonna wait till nearer the end of the tour and then attack 2 or 3 of the aftershows. Cnat do the last one though as am taking my 7 year old son to the 21st main show and he falls under the 18 limit for indigo. He is already getting good on piano and starting guitar so im hopng seeing P live is gonna be the lift he needs to really progresss in his studies. Im a fanatical guitarist so cant wait to teach him the P numbers on guitar when his littel fingers get stong enough to cope. the guitar is the best instrument in the world!

OK, just got back from the aftershow.
He came on at 1.05ish and was off at 2.30. It was a full band workout - but without The Twinz (sad, as they really are gorgeous). Prince was having fun and let the band have a lot of the spotlight. The whole thing was great fun, just seemed to be missing a little something. In truth, that missing element is probably Prince's songs. I'm all for playing lots of Sly and Graham Central Station but I'd much rather here an Empty Room, Question Of U, Joy In Repetition, etc, etc. He played a bit of Partyman at one point, Alphabet St for a while at another moment but out of nowhere came a welcome return for the scintillating (and in my opinion, highlight of the ONA tour) Gotta Broken Heart Again. It was sublime... Maceo killed it on sax and P's vocals were a masterclass. The use of distance from the microphone was a wonderful touch. In a night dominated by funk workouts, this was the highlight for me. A beautiful ballad will always floor me! Chris. PS. Will.I.Am from Black Eyed Peas made a two-song cameo including Get On The Boat. He seemed to improv better than Common last week... "What did the five fingers say to the face?" I was heading out of the doors and then he came back on again. Did one more track with Shelby on vocals and he played some awesome guitar. Finished arouund 2.40

AWESOME AWESOME aftershow.
I TOUCHED HIS GUITAR at the end (before the last unexpected encore). I'm so glad we risked the crush at the front. Apart from a couple of smarmy girls trying to blag their way in front, the rest of the crowd were amazing and plenty of room to dance and feel the air con. HAVE to go to more.

Just got home wishing i'd been to the aftershow too.
tonight was better than the 14th, took my cus who said it was the best show she'd seen in her life, someone sent in the cavalry tonight especially during the piano sections 2 metres in front of me. Don't think i could go to another main show now as tonight was a big party that can't get beat, but I guess at some time it will with me not there. Damn it was funky tonight!!!

I did see that, thankfully. I never had my phone with me so I wasn't sure what time he finished. Also, those guys who got his guitar at the end should just make a bee-line for the door. That tech guy is always quick to get it back but I reckon there's a 2-second gap to get away!!! "What did the five fingers say to the face?" SLAP!! -- Rick James, habitual line-stepper.
