I'm going to the 6th solo too, main and aftershow, yay!

Mostly a lurker here (the Legendary London shows have got me posting!) but it could be cool to meet some Orgers. Not sure what time I'll be getting up there though. Hmmm that reminds me, I better book some travel tickets pronto!

I was just thinking (yes I know! wink ) Anyway as theres quite a few of us coming alone now and all wanting to meet up shall we meet in the Slug and Lettuce from 7pm? Thought it would make sence as we're all arriving at different times, at least then we can all meet in one place and have a drink while we're waiting for everyone, plus I like a cider and I know that pub serves cider! wink biggrin What do you all think? Is it a plan? biggrin Lets have a party and Get Wild! biggrin biggrin biggrin

yea man, up for meeting, i think jxx is doing the organising, sounds like there will be a few people, should be interesting

on the one hand i'm joking about the hotel indigo...but the aftershows have probably saved me a fortune in hotel bills! by the time i've caught the clipper and made my way to the station, the first train of the day is pretty much ready to go!

hoorah for aftershows! practical and money saving, aswell as fun!

sounds like a plan, i met someone one night in the first bar you hit as you enter the o2, but there was really loud music, so it was difficult to talk

there's a pub just to the right of the slug that's quite good/big and just seems to play prince music...but i'm not sure what it's called...might be good for after the show!

i've given up on queing for the aftershows, once they start letting people in the queue goes like the clappers, so there's no point!

Where's your sense of adventure? lol lol lol

Isn't it funny how it's always axe murderers that are the biggest fear when meeting some stranger? Think about it logically, an axe would be quite hard to conceal. You'd spot it a mile off and would get plenty of time to make a getaway.

It's the knife muderers and stranglers that you should really be worrying about. wink biggrin

Why do I now feel the urge to get a wooden sandwich board made up with the words, "Prince.org meet up", printed on it and then stand outside the O2 holding an axe? lol

On second thoughts I'd probably get locked up and miss the shows. Probably best if I leave my axe at home. biggrin

I discussed this very thing with one of the Indigo Doormen after the Aftershow on the 28th..

He said that it varies, depending on what time the show finishes, and how much of the crowd stays afterwards to party on. On the 28th they wound things up around 3am, as most people cleared out sharpish after it was clear Prince wasn't gonna come back on. Though I remembered on the 1st (when the live show ended around 3-ish iirc) that a barman mentioned they'd be serving until around 4am. Security guy said that basically if there's a big crowd sticking around inside at the bar/dancefloor etc, then they stay open a bit longer, otherwise they close when things start to wind down. I'm sure in reality they do have a clearer ruling than that, but it didn't seem apparent from what he was saying... I was just glad that to hear some confirmation that Prince indeed could party on for several hours if he was so inclined! biggrin

While they probably do have a finite licence time for the music/dancing/performance, I thought it was interesting to know that they have been flexible with kicking-out time thus far. It is certainly the case that they have not closed at the same time each night during the 3121 residency.

As for the first-train-home thing, I had to help keep my friend awake for her first train home after the Aftershow on the 1st, and really with the stubling-in-shock after seeing Prince twice in one night, and queueing for the night bus to Waterloo, we were only sat doing nothing for an hour or so. I did similar on the 28th solo... took a leisuely stroll down to the clipper, sat about in Waterloo for a bit, then made my way across London to get the transport home. Definitely cheaper than a hotel if you can manage staying awake that little bit extra (maybe easier for me as I work night shifts).

I think the official closing time for Indigo is 4am but can understand why they might close earlier if the vast majority clear out.

LMAO!

Of course they would be easy to spot if they had their axe with them. I doubt the art of axe murdering is that straightforward. I doubt that axe murderers actually do their murdering in highly populated public places. They probably keep their axes at home, or in some old abandoned shed or something. I strongly doubt they carry their axes everyhwere they go. That would be way too obious. I would just not rather meet any, ya know? smile Though I would think that axe murderes, with their unhinged minds, would not have the good taste to want to attend a Prince concert, so we are probably safe,

Okay I am thinking about this way too much.. and getting way off-topic.

*sings to self*

"Oh eeeh oh, woaaaaah"

Okay, that's better. Prince Prince Prince Prince Prince. smile

That would make sense I guess. Though I would like to think that if Prince fancied a little rest, he could come onstage at 3am and play until 6, were he so inclined. cool

Hmmmm. Do you think axe murderers date bunny boilers? I try and avoid those too.

the latest i was in there was just before 4am...but one night they seemed to be clearing people out at about 3.30 (probably the dr john night!)-('throw me on the street huh?' - i tried the bela legosi look but it didn't work - (and i forgot my axe)(must remember it on thursday)

so that seems to comply with what already been said, but i thought i'd add my 2 cents

the one night i caught the tube it started about 5am(even though it said the first one was at 5.30) - there were a few people in the bus/tube station with the same idea it seemed

can't remember if the last clipper was 4 or 4.30... more fun than the tube, especially if they let you sit outside at the back

Well, you've convinced me, why didn't i think of that before? - axes - so unweildly, i feel such a fool - i'm off to buy an ice pick

You seem to know far too much about the mindset of an axe muderer. eek It seems we all need to avoid the crazy guys going around chanting along to oh wee oh wooooaaaah...

I've never thought of the chant 'oh wee oh' being sinister before

but actually, it kind of is!

it reminds me of the noise the ewoks make before they try and spit roast han solo!
