Hey there
We've booked the Travelodge at london city airport. It was £49 for a family room online but non refundable or £60 over phone which can be refunded. Sleeps a maximum of 3 adults and one child and it was the same price as a twin room. Whilst it is the other side of the river Thames you can walk it but it is a fairly long walk, taxi should be about £15 each way or catch any bus going through the blackwall tunnel and walk the rest. We've booked to go this Friday 31st, i will add a comment on how good it was on Saturday evening. Hope this helps Peace!! fellow Prince fam!!

Go to maps.google.com, type:
North Greenwich, Millennium Way, Greenwich, London, United Kingdom in the search box, you get a map pointing at the O2, click "search nearby", type "hotel". Then you get a list of all hotels nearby! Good luck!

Closest in the Holiday Inn...about 15 min walk from the arena. You used to be able to book a room online through one of their deals for £59 a night but they've pulled the offer so I think the rooms are now about £150 a night on weekends www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!

Hi,
if you are new to London, much better to stay in a central hotel, unless you really just want to see Prince. The 02 is a bit far away from everything else...

Novotel Tower Bridge was good, I stayed there on the 11th, you just cross over tower bridge and pick up the Clipper boat to the venue (20min leisurly walk), no underground involved. Its close to London Bridge Station (20mins) or Charing Cross (a few mins). Probably a good place to be if you in town for site seeing, rather than round the O2 Dome area which is pretty industrial.

Oh yes, forgot to add, they were doing a buy the room now rate at £89 Room only. Not the cheapest in the world, but not bad compared to some other hotels.

Following a recommendation on this site (thanks whoever you were) I stayed at the Custom House Hotel across from Excel. From North Greenwich it's one stop to Canning Town on the Jubilee Line, then two stops on DLR and just cross the road.
At the end of the concert most people are going in the opposite direction on the Jubilee line, so you are going against the traffic. http://www.customhouse-hotel.co.uk/ Double rooms or twins are something like £56 a night, not including breakfast. It's not fancy, but it's quiet, clean, convenient. Just the job, really. I'm going back there on the 20th Sept.

If you want something in central London I stayed at this one when I saw Justin Timberlake at O2
http://www.ridgemounthotel.co.uk/ £54 for a twin/double, shared facilities, but you get a cooked breakfast! It's got character. Really friendly helpful owner.

As somebody who lives in London, this is the smartest answer to the accommodation question I've read. If you're in London for a couple of shows, do it this way. You can catch the Thames Clipper to the O2 and back (for a small fee) after a short walk. The bonus of being on the edge of Central London means that sightseeing is easy and achievable. Well done to you! I work in the area and often think why that hotel isn't the most popular in London. It's cheap (by Central London's standards) and offers access to so many modes of transport for the region - the Tube, DLR, overland trains, riverboat are all within walking distance. If you're coming to London for a few days or more, stay at a hotel in the London Bridge/Fenchurch Street/Tower Bridge area. Chris. "What did the five fingers say to the face?" The problem with the Thames Clipper is that the last one leaves 01:30 from Greenwich (if the information inside O2 was correct). If you're in London to watch Prince, why don't stay at Prince William Hotel? Share a taxi with two others for the Paddington area and you'll get there for £13-15.. [Edited 8/30/07 15:06pm]

Just got home from the 31st gig!! Wow
As promised in my comment above here's the review of London city airport travelodge!! Easy to find Free Parking Really Quiet (apart from aeroplanes taking off in the afternoon) Good overall value for money (Family room £49 booked online), this does allow a maximum of three adults (although if you could smuggles in a forth there is a bed if two don't mind sharing a double) 24 Hr garage walking distance from hotel (serious munchies at 3.30am) Three methods of access to O2 Walking (didn't ask but it seemed miles away) DLR from airport and change onto greenwich bound tube Minicab ordered by reception £18 each way (the driver gave us his number, we rang him when ready and he picked us up in ten minutes, he worked until about 4am) Hope this helps, enjoy the gig!! peace [Edited 9/1/07 13:31pm] [Edited 9/1/07 13:31pm]
