From anything other than a consumer point of view?

Classic song by the JB's, a band of James Brown's backup musicians, pretty much headed up by Maceo Parker. Funky song, that's fo damn sure! Similar in a sense to Maceo's Rabbits in the Pea Patch, which incidentally, is also about peas. According to Allmusic.com, it was written by Bobbit/Brown/Starks.
I reccomend to get a small taste of JB's funk to buy their hits compilation Pass the Peas: The best of the J.B.s. Since their albums don't really "say" anything, they're just there for a good time, it's not like you'll miss anything by buying a hits album. Incidentally, if you're ever unsure of the name of something straightforward, go to www.allmusic.com. You can search by Artist, Song, Album, Style or Label. It's the best online music information site I know of. Easy to get through, no pop-ups, etc. "Knowledge is preferable to ignorance. Better by far to embrace the hard truth than a reassuring faith. You can find 'Pass the peas' on Maceo's album "life on planet groove".
An excellent life album including Candy Dulfer. If you don't have it you might want to take a listen to this on. Greets, Erik
