I'm going to my first aftershow this Saturday straight from the main show. Can anybody tell me whether I should leg it out of the arena as soon as the concert finishes over to Indigo2? How long is the queue to get into Indigo2? Is there likely to be a vibe either beforehand or once inside as to whether Prince is going to turn up? I'd really rather not queue for an hour or so and then wait inside for another hour or two if there's a chance of a no show. Any advice appreciated, thanks.

Just chill, get a drink in one of the many bars and make your way in about 12:30. No rush. Time mop the (black) sweat off your brow so you can work up another sweat at 1:15am (if you are lucky enough).

I'd second that...the queue gets pretty long quite quickly but there's no rush to get in there as Prince (if he's gonna play) won't be out on stage straight away. We went on the 4th and stayed at the Holiday Inn just down the road from the arena, so we went back to our room, freshened up and walked back....queue was all gone, and we walked straight in at about12:30. Plus it was another half hour at least before Prince came on stage.

The problem with that though, I would assume, is that I'd have no chance on getting close to the stage as all of the people who had queued will have staked their place and won't move!

You'd have thought so, but when I went we managed to get within about about an arms lenght of the stage....it was busy but if your're subtle about it you can slide into a free spot, providing you're not 6ft 5 or wearing a massive hat!

Was that on the 18th Aug by chance??? We went to the main concert that day and I remember seeing someone on the floor by the stage with a big glittery symbol. Fair play at the concert, but at the aftershow?? I'm surprised she didn't end up with it lodged somewhere painful!

Definately no rush to get in que. We were in it for yonks on the 3rd. They didnt open doors when said on ticket so take your time.

if u wanna get to the front of the stage do the right thing and que early stake your place and be patient...there is nothing worse than the rude ignorant folk who waltz in at the last minute and proceed to push their way,however gently to the front...where the rest of us have politely and patiently waited for hours.on tues i qued at indigo at just after 1030pm and got to the front,yes i missed an encore of nothing compares but his performance at the indigo and the smiles he threw me more than made up for it.oh and don't even think about que jumping...those of us who waited patiently will not take it well!

Point well made I guess....though when we went to the Indigo for the Aftershow on 4th August there was zero atmosphere in the place as most of the people in the club were just standing still starring at the curtain in front of the stage, rather than dancing to the great tunes the DJ was spinning. The only people dancing were right on the edge of the crowd. It couldn't have been very inspiring when Prince stuck his head out to see what the atmosphere in the club was like.

think p probably knows why everyone is staring at the curtain!and as for the dj...shit....forgive me if i'm wrong...when purchasing my aftershow tickets i assumed if p doesnt turn up at least we get to dance to his tunes.....if anything put p off playing the aftershows it's the pissheads who were pushing in the crowd spilling their pints over people,not the fans at the front patiently waiting for his arrival.

on the 11th Aug, the Q for aftershow went right out of the Dome itself then down to the Clipper port tunnel. That was at 11.40. I don't know how long that Q would have taken to move inside (to the fun DJ set!). I plan to get there early on 21st Sept as not going to main show and just chill with a drink inside the Indigo when it opens.

I'd love to line up early and get right to the front, but I need my water when in a hot confined space, and being stuck with all those people behind me when I've only got a dribble of very warm water left in a bottle isn't the nicest thought.

the indgo is really well air conditioned u'll only get hot if u jump around too much!take it easy.

don't forget to take your bottle tops to recap those bottles of water

No dont go to the indigo queue straight away, it goes for miles. Go get yourself a drink or 2 and you will be able to walk straight in.

One the advice of another orger, I went back to my hotel, had a shower, some food, changed clothes. When I got to the Indigo2 at about 12 I went straight in, but the dancefloor was still pretty quiet. Nothing happened until about 12.30 when the crew started setting up the stage.

Hey Do Me Baby, how's things?

Don't worry about the Aftershow, just relax and grab a drink. The queue goes down really quickly once they open the door and you can move around the indigo at leisure. The atmosphere in the queue was really up beat too which always helps.

If you're a smoker of course you might wanna go out for a smoke anyway.
