Yes - the new NPG rule mightily.
Especially Renato Neto - shame he wasn't as audible as on the ONA tour - but the guy is an awesome player - can't wait for him to find time/funding to release some of his own work. I truly believe he is the best keys player EVER to work with Prince (and that includes you know who)
OK - maybe Michael B and Rhonda aren't around on this tour - but the new rhythm section kicks ass - Maceo is playing as well as ever, and the rest of the Hornz aren't too shabby (when they get a solo in). It was great to hear Lee and Mike ripping it up on A Night In Tunisia at the 24th AfterShow.
And then there's Shelby's voice!!! ( I could go on but I need to go spin a disc now)

Agree on Renato. Was delighted to learn he's back on board. I share the view that he's the greatest keys player in any of Prince's band line-ups. I think the difference with him too is that you can hear his influence in some of Prince's own piano playing recently. Great to have Mr Hayes back too. He doesn't do anything spectacular these days, but seems very happy just being a part of it all. I did prefer Michael B and John Blackwell as drummers, and I think Sony was about his best bassist (certainly most distinctive).

But all round, a superb line up. Let's hear it once more for Renato smile

Got to agree with the positive opinions about Renato - he is so amazing on the keys. I have been to two shows now, and looked forward to A Wonderful World to hear him set free on the keys (although love the sax too).
