well, i was on the radio.

Without having someone there from the promoters there present there was no debate and really, as far as i can tell, no story. After i explained i had got a refund, i was puzzled as to why they still wanted me to come in. but what the hell, i had nothing else to do this morning.

From what i could hear, i think everyone else asserted themselves pretty well..

i don't think i did anywhere near as good a job as i hoped, though i do hope the fact i got a refund offered to me actually makes some people who haven't got off their backsides to complain do so. one caller stated "we complain too much in this country" i think the real truth is that we don't complain accurately enough.

Aside from still selling crappy seats as VIP tickets(at least you have the option to turn them down) in my case Aeg have dealt with this amicably, and within 28 days as promised.

if you haven't complained Please take all the steps Unique has stated(who i must acknowledge is very sharp and gives very good advice) if what you got was not what you are promised you have a legal right to a refund. I would also say, simultaneously with dealing with ticket master, contact the people at AEG live who deal with this, because despite the dispute not legally being between you and them, they do seem to be dealing with it.

I think we both did very well Glyn and was amazed how quick the time went - were you in the studio whilst I was on the 'phone? lol

thats a very good point, the org and HQ is full of people complaining, but the sad thing is that people are arguing the wrong points and losing out, and i've read posts by upset and unhappy people who simply can't be bothered complaining, and i'm fairly sure they are put off because they have read many posts by people who have made complaints without a valid reason for obtaining a refund, seen they are being knocked back, and thus don't complain themselves, when they would certainly be entitled to a refund under statutory law

even if you have attended the event you may still be entitled to a refund as you may not have been aware of the resticted view until you attended, and furthermore at the late stage TM allocated and sent out tickets it left fans with little time to make alternate arrangements, essentially holding fans to ransom as to whether they wanted to attend the event with a poor seat, or not attend at all and miss the show, when they may have travel and accomodation, time off work, babysitters etc all booked in advance. as such, that should all add more weight to the arguement as to why refunds should be granted even if you did attend

personally i got my tickets on the thursday before the first show on wednesday, complained on friday morning, but it wasn't resolved until midday on saturday, which meant i had sunday, monday and tuesday to arrange alternate tickets for 2 persons before travelling down to the concert on wednesday. TM must surely be aware that given then late stage of allocation and despatch of tickets that it's working in thier favour to avoid refunds, as most uk consumers don't have a clue about the sale of goods act and thier statutory rights

thats mainly why i would have liked to have prepared some things for you guys to read on the air, to help out others and persuade them to complain and get refunds so TM don't pull these tricks again. i'm personally fine as i got a refund, but there are too few people getting refunds, and too many getting upset

i'm not sure how many "VIP" seats are behind the stage, but 10 rows of 6 seats and 3 blocks is 180 seats, times 21 nights is 3780 potential unhappy people who paid £240 a ticket. now we know they didn't completely sell out, and some people may be fine with the tickets, but there could still be well over 1,000 fans who feel ripped off by this, who could get a refund if they tried, and thats £250,000 to TM and AEG. if they "lost" that amount of money it might be the only thing that makes them sit up and pay attention

We didn't really get time to say a lot but some of the comments playing in background where from taped interviews on Friday last week.

Update on VIP Tickets Complaint

Having been ignored by Ticketmaster, Messed around for a week by AEG we have now been in contact with AEG LIVE. The customer services there offered me another date with a VIP ticket - but there was a catch as it was for the bar, finger buffet & a £ 31.21 ticket location. Please do be aware that if they have offered you an alternative night that you know again where you are to be seated.

WE have now been offered a refund but at present we dont know if its the full amount.

AEG Live Contact was Julie Mann 0207 536 2600 or Maxinne 0207 536 1615
Good luck and dont give in!![b]

lol Just wondered if you had had an positive news yet about your claim sad

Hey can you please tell me why your comp[lainig about the vip tickets?

I received my VIP tickets by email yesterday so that must be a very good sign that they are sticking to their word and they were so friendly as well. I think it was you who said be polite - it certainly seems to work and they are doing their best.

the sale of goods act still applies if you bought online from TM as the point of sale occurred in the uk, you should be complaining to them in the same way as i've mentioned here and on hq. as i mentioned before AEG aren't responsible for dealing with customers under the sale of goods act, and notably didn't respond to call for comment to the guardians recent article, yet TM have confirmed in a roundabout way that they are responsible for selling tix on behalf of AEG

so complain to TM and the uk law will cover u if u have a valid complaint (ie. seats at rear of stage)

Has anyone had their refund cheque from Aeg yet (and if so, how much was it for)? I was originally told on 5th September that the refund would be sent out within 2 weeks. I was then told that they would be sent out last week (after they had checked original purchase with Ticketmaster) but have still received nothing. Think I'll be going via the small claims court at this rate.

Hi Wolfy,

I spoke to Maxine last week and that was when she told me that the refunds were being issued, but she couldn't tell me for how much. I will have to wait until after the postal strike ends next week to see if anything comes through.
