Yes, around 500, I guess. "How embarrasing to be human!"

In the same way that I suspect over 50% of the tickets for the Dublin gig were nabbed in that first half hour of sale by Brits who couldn't get tickets for London and figured they'd get a cheap Ryanair flight! There'll be no Irish people at the Dublin gig

Half the ground floor was NPGMC members. It isn't the biggest venue, but there were alot of people !
I spoke to someone who'd seen a soundcheck in New York though, and he said there were more people there !! So we didn't do to badly.

I don't think we did badly at all ... I was towards the back of the allocated seating and had a great view (except for the 6ft giant who was in front of me) Actually, I'd suspected before the show that I'd be even further back, given that I was one of the fans who missed out on the ticket allocation first time they went on sale and had to buy my tix in the second batch. I was expecting to be towards the back of the stalls, so anywhere in the first third was a bonus. Great venue for Prince btw ... I had the feeling he really enjoyed playing there.

If I had been at the back of the allocated blk I still would of been happy, this was about my 30th Prince gig and I am always cursed with getting bad seats.
so sitting second row was a dream come true!

Lucrative business... Eelco

Sorry, guys. I hate to sound like a bore but that wasn't the soundcheck! I heard someone ask Prince about the soundcheck and he said (and I quote), "Oh, we've already done that." He was about to go get ready for the show when we all asked him to play something as we'd BEEN WAITING FOR NEARLY 6 HOURS!! For some reason, we were not allowed into the hall till he'd finished and I want to know why.

I guess there is a difference between the technical soundcheck, which would be boring as hell to watch, and what the NPGMC get to see, basically a quick rehersal. Because they were setting up the equipment for the first time in a new venue it probably took them a little longer than they expected. I'm sure tonights and tomorrows will go smoother, it's all set up and ready to go!
