myself and my brother are trying to piece together last night, main show was unreal, kicked off with 1999, that set the tone for the nite, P was in totally wicked form he also played the following not in the right order:

cream
u got the look
when doves cry
controversy
P R
L R C
Sometimes it snows in april
and much, much more

after show was the best part of 2 hours long, with the whole band except Maceo, that was totally amazing, Prince was in very playful mood, crowd was well into it and almost no aggressive drunks (we were drunk, i think, opps) and all that shite that has marred concerts recently. I could rant on the rest of the day about this, but i wont. But i can safely say he has beaten the point depot 1995 second concert with last nite by a long stretch. Oh yeah, he played controversy as well, i hope someone posts the setlist of last nite, IMO the only song missing was lets go crazy, not that i cared anyway, i was almost happy when it eneded. cant wait for the madness again tonite
excited

Wow, sounds like a brilliant night! Im jealous of the aftershow though - although I enjoyed last Friday night's main show and aftershow, I would have loved if he had shown up at the Indigo. It will be interesting to see if he shows at the aftershow tonight.

No mention in the review about Common! He took to the stage and blew us away and then P walked out soon after. They both shared the stage for almost 2 hours. It was the greatest set I've ever seen anyone play and I've seen most. It will go down in history as the greatest night of my life. Never will be outdone for me. I had seen P many times before, but this was what I had been waiting for. The man is a musical genius and cannot be surpassed. He played keyboards, guitar and slapped that bass till it hurt! I danced till my legs ached and then some. The set included blues, jazz, funk, soul and with Common, some wonderful musical poetry I hate the term Rap!). Fams I really hope that you will have the experience I had, if you haven't already. Let's just stick with "the greatest live performer on earth!" Its my birthday tomorrow, and I could never have asked for a better present.

Happy Birthday!! Sounds like you've already got the best present last night!
I'll admit I'm jealous but I'm glad everyone got a great night. Roll on September 9
