just back from this mayhem, aftershow compliments of my brother who swore we are not going in, but i was right, he did play and what a show. As mentioned by others, it was apparent from the moment he was on stage, that he was out for a good time, he was totally lovin it, absolutely amazing, brilliant setlist, i cant find the words, and the aftershow.....OMG, what a show, not a classic by any means, but simply a laid back jam session, total fun and very like hanging out with friends and just playing around, absolutely brilliant
later today the next concert, if it is half as good, it will be ..... If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.

LOL - I think it's cute that people try to give each other concert envy... 'OMGFG The revolution reformed and played the entire purple rain setlist BACKWARDS.. and then and then when we left we er got 10 copies each of the Roadhouse Garden sessions'
And I agree re Purple Rain that someone else mentioned on this thread - I wouldn't mind if he dropped it - played something we want to hear that we haven't heard played live 40 times before. SOTT? He's not reading the org, he's not reacting to what you write on here if you think he is you're deluded. Why would he read it when so many people on here do nothing but hate. I love him and I love the music, have been for years have everything put out and lots 'not' .. but in a way I'm looking forward to it being over (doing 7 0f 21) so I can get back to my life ! He was right - a new name does feel mighty fine....now for some fun - MWA HA HA HA

It was my second show (the first being 4th August which was also a fantastic night). I was jumping up and down when he opened with 1999. I was willing him to do a full version of SOTT. I loved the intro. I suddenly felt like I was back in 1987. Shopping is not a sport!

What a great night number 4 for me, he teased us with When Doves Cry on the keyboard, couple of versus then stopped and then proceeded to laugh... what a tease. Wanted to hear Sign of the times and Alhabet and he delivered. I met comedians Ed Byrn outside and Dara Obrein, my girlfriend used to go out with Ed and I knew he was a big fan, he owns the Purple Rain guitar. Lots of synchronicity last night, met a couple next to me from Arizona, during the conversation I asked if they knew who David Icke was, but I had no idea that he was at the concert. I have spoken to David Icke several times at length, and it would have been brilliant to have seen him there a real twilight zone moment. Great performance, was in Block C2 Row A for £31.21 again from Ticketmaster a week before the show, and yeasterday the same block for my girlfriend for the same price... so it's worth persevering.

Delighted you all had a great night, but crap - why didnt he play last Friday night!!! Boohoooo!!!! If there is any sort of a pattern forming, he wont show up to the aftershow tonight then - like 2 weeks ago. I really enjoyed last Friday's main show - brilliant night, but I am only attending one more show - Sept 21st and although nothing is guaranteed, I would like to see him at the aftershow .....

Well maybe Prince has ESP; because people got some verses of SOTT last night when he had just played some piano intro previously....hhhmmm....

You should have seen him from where you were sitting! Big mop of grey hair and a jean shirt, he was sitting on the high stools at the front of the stage but when he went to the loo some more VIP's came along and took his table...He was then ushered to the stools at the side...He stuck out like a sore thumb coz he looked so ordainary for a VIP...I hear Corrine Bailey Rae was there too...We all lurv the great man! x honesty is the best policy...

As for Purple Rain, it's easy to forget that he's playing to 20,000+ people, not a few hundred hardcores that have watched him many times over the years. There's probably 19,000 people at each concert that want nothing more than to hear Purple Rain. I've been to 5 shows and each time it's played peolpe have loved it. Ive loved it too as it's been performed differently on each occasion. RIP

The main show was short but the best of the 5 I've seen so far. The Stones bits were funny, adding "Miss You" into PTFMW was great, and "Sometimes It Snows In April" was beautiful.
Now, the AFTERSHOW.... Common had a few songs throughout the set, but P still found time to play (in no particular order): 3121 (to open, with Common rapping as well as P singing, and to close - inc. One Nation), Girls & Boys, Partyman, Peach, Controversy, A Love Bizarre, What Have You Done For Me Lately, Tell Me Something Good, Baby Love, Black Sweat and I'm probably missing others. Lasted about 100 mins, started around 12:50. [b]Oh that's great so he played longer at the shagging aftershow that my friend wouldn't go to for longer than the main show, I f**k**g knew he was gonna be that last night aggggghhhhh!!!! one day night really please God

Sorry about the late response but I have just got back home. This was my first Prince concert and I have to say it was the best concert I have ever been to. I read on this message board that some people were booing at some of the concerts - how bizarre (and how rude!). I would definitely go to another Prince concert - hope he does future concerts. I am going on holiday so can't see any more this time around otherwise I would - it would definitely be worth the journey. Thanks to everyone's advice on this message board. Long live his royal purpleness!
