Its now against the law to smoke in any enclosed public building in England, as soon as you step thru the o2 doors you will not be permitted to smoke anywhere including the arena, all pubs, restrauants and Indigo. Im a smoker myself and if you want to smoke then its outside and thats it Life It Aint Real Funky, Unless Its Got That Pop!

You can't smoke anywhere inside the 02 but there are areas just outside where you can smoke.
Two members of the Rolling Stones smoked on stage last night at the 02...very naughty!

Ok - let me tell u a little story:
I am a "non-smoker" but sometimes when I had my 3 or 4 beers and be with my friends by chance I like 2 smoke a cigarette. On 3rd of August I was at the O2 - during the concert I didn't think on smoking one single second. But after the show we had 2 wait for the aftershow (that never happend btw. and so I had a few beers and gin lemon and suddenly I thought "ok - let's have a cigarette" - but where? Going out of the O2 would have been a long way 2 go, so let's try it at the toilet. After about 10 seconds at the toilet a very nice but strict security guy went into it and asked me friendly 2 leave the Indigo. I tried to tell them, that I am from austria, that I didn't know about the new laws but I had 2 leave the Indigo. I asked the security 2 tell my friends that I am out and not allowed 2 come in again. 5 minutes later me came in mind that I had one aftershow-ticket left and decided 2 try 2 go in again. The nice security guy wasn't there so I went 2 the entrance, where another sec.-guy ask me, if I wasn't just pulled out out the Indigo - I said "no" - and did if I don't know, what he was talking about ... Back at the Indigo for about 5 minutes, the nice guy (the first one) saw me again and couldn't believe it, that I am back in He called a second guy and they "asked" me out of the room again (but still very friendly!!!!) Out of the Indigo I promised them, that I wouldn't smoke again and that I will be back on the next day - they just laughed. Next day - main concert (great one btw!) - back 2 the indigo - guess who was standing at the door - same security guy then day before - he took me aside and I had 2 promise him, that I don't have any cigarettes with me and that I will be "nice" ! So after the aftershow (at least 10 minutes Prince) we all left the Indigo and I said a nice goodby 2 my new security friends and told them, they can look forward to the 12th of sept. - because I will be in London again that day - they just laughed and couldn't believe it. Long story short: - don't smoke at the O2 or you will have 2 leave it - security was very, very friendly !!! although I tried 2 fool them twice greats from Austria netzverWalter [Edited 8/22/07 11:32am]

smoking isnt allowed inside any of the O2 but on one night there was a guy near by smoking a joint which no one stopped so i am guessing the rules are no smoking tobacco unless it is 'special' stuff
seriously not worth smoking cos if you are caught then you are chucked out With Love there is no Death

And, yeah, they don't seem to care as to what is being smoked, just that there is the act of smoking occuring - kind of a bizarre situation that ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...

If they can do it... Smoking Stones avoid stage fine The Rolling Stones flouted England's new smoking ban when two band members lit up on stage at London's O2 arena. But the venue will not be fined after Greenwich Council said it was "satisfied" the incident was a one-off. Guitarists Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood both smoked cigarettes during the first of the band's three gigs at the former Millennium Dome http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/h...958627.stm

No smoking anywhere inside, as per the new smoking laws, but there is plenty of time to stock up your nicotine levels between the main show and the Aftershow.
I actually had an embrassing moment on the 1st August... after the concert I insited to my friend that we go outside for a bit so I could smoke before we got into the queue for the aftershow... I didn't realise that the queue was already outside the bulding, and had probably doubled in size by the time I had finished smoking. Ooops. Eye like pretty things, and u're just as pretty as u can b...
