Not Everyone Lives In London

You know I keep hearing a lot of people saying how we should expect less because the tickets only cost 31.21
well that just isnt true for a lot of people add to the 31.21 the cost of air/train fares hotel bills childminders days off work etc etc and the cost is far f=greater not everyone lives in London and though it may just be another gig to Prince for some people its their one and only chance to see him ... He should think about that?
and give all his fans what they deserve!

I can agree on that. I'm in the same situation but I got a different approach. Since we'll make a weekend trip out of it which is supplemented with a show + aftershow, we'll just go there 2 dancing jig ... I leave my stopwatch, notebook and bored face @ home and just have fun smile Really there's nothing else one can do ...

Definitely!
Also went this weekend, travelling from Amsterdam, expecting to see Prince perform 2 mainshows and maybe 5 or 10 minutes at the aftershows. What we got was a good show by the NPG on Friday and a show that was just amazing on Saturday

if the goods you purchased were not as advertised, you can ask for a refund.
Prince is just an artist and I know damn well he doesn't care when I start whining cuz he didn't show up at my aftershow. There's people dying in Iraq for nothing, there's babies with no future in Darfur ... I know my place.

Okay...from that point of view...I must confess that we bought the tix for the aftershow only 2 days before....when I realised that there is no gig on sunday...and we were the lucky one.

But (as it is discussed somewhere else) this is not Prince´s fault...

And....I´m not living in Las Vegas or L.A. or even Mpls to get a chance to see him.... wink

I have asked for my refund and been offered aftershow tickets for another night?
have asked for sep21 which will be sold out what will they offer me then?
I'd hope they would offer me tickets for another night and through in airfares hotels etc but i very much doubt it!
and knowing my luck even if i did get tickets for the 21st he wouldnt show anyway!!!!!

Exactly my last trip was 37.80 (ticket, booking fee, handling charge) £60 petrol, £10 parking, £7 tube....not to mention dinner and drinks.

Now that well over £100 and Im not complaining but you do start to question if you got he same value as previous gigs when Prince says "Good night London" after 1 hour (the first 15 of which he wasnt on stage anyway).

Still teh cheapest tour hes done yet though

To be fair as much as I don't like people moaning about him, I do think about that and feel bad for people coming from far off and having a shorter gig(but good none the less) and then reading of longer shows on other dates.

Im very pleased with my weekend. I was coming over to the UK from the States anyway. Total cost for the weekend including transport from Worcester England was about $750 US. Im not rich but I certainly feel that I got my moneys worth. A weekend in London with 2 Prince shows and 2 aftershows. I certainly did not mind that I paid extra for the Kings Row ticket Saturday night. I think his last show in Boston was better than the O2 shows but they were still amazing performances. Nobody "ruined" my fun either. People need to worry about themselves and stop bitching about the drunk guy or the dude with his arms crossed. Its not your problem. ENJOY. My only complaint is the whole picture thing. This was part of my holiday and a few pictures woulda been nice. I respected the policy though.

By the way, Why would people spending so much on transportation and such only go to 1 show? Whats another £60 pounds at that point?
As for the aftershow it has always been known that MAYBE he will perform and MAYBE he wont. He did not perform on Friday but there WAS a show. Its the "Official Prince Aftershow" There was a show and it was after Prince. Exactly as advertised. Prince not playing on Friday was much less shocking than what happened Saturday.

Exactly ! Our total costs for 2 tix incl. flight plus hotel and catering: £ 1.100. So what ? Okay, my bankbook is blasted...but otherwise: waiting for a chance to see him in Germany ? Never in this life.
It´s senseless to discuss about that. It was even cheaper than a weekend trip to Las Vegas...and...I was disappointed when he started his gigs in Vegas in Oct./Nov last year..´cause we visited Las Vegas in September... mad

Not quite sure what the solution is here though to be fair....are you saying that Prince should make the tickets even cheaper than £30?? Or have an option to type into Ticketmaster how many kids you have, or how far away from the venue you live so that your ticket can be priced accordingly?? smile

Im pretty sure he made an appearance at the main show ;o) Are you seriously telling us that the whole night was a waste and ruined because you didnt get an extra 10 minutes of Prince? Thats all he has been doing when he shows up. Last Saturday was just the luck of the draw and way more than I ever would have expected.

@ dacoolen:
Thank u. smile
And superimposing: That saturday night aftershow was the FIRST aftershow for me since 22 years of listening to his music and joining his gigs ´cause in the past I wasn´t the lucky one to get informations about the clubs where the shows took place. Just the first prize in lottery for me at this time.

No offence intended but I might also add that the whole "it's alot harder for me as I've got kids" thing doesn't cut it for me....I still presume that having children is a voluntary thing and not forced upon anyone?? That being the case, it must be the case that those that choose to have kids do so with their eyes open to the fact that going on holiday, going clubbing, pubbing or to concerts (such as Prince) is going to be that much more difficult from there on in. There's a guy in this office who is always moaning about holidays being so much more hassle now he has kids...like he didn't know that before he chose to have them!!!

Right...I'll get down off my soapbox now!! Apologies for the whinge!! biggrin

Kornie ... where are u from ... I'm from Belgium and my current bill including travel and hotel is around 600 euros... if you spent 1000's then either you took a private jet and/or stayed at an expensive hotel ... neither of which is required for this tour wink

BUT I AM NOT GOING TO LET THAT SPOIL THE GREAT EVENING I HAD AT THE MAINSHOW excited excited
