I'm not confused, I know exactly what he means. I've also been to 4 shows and have thoroughly enjoyed them all. I loved the sampler section on Saturday but would have been in extasy if those tracks had been played in full.

This is what we want.

Tuesday 14th was glorious and crucially, it had no medleys.

Could there be another message behind this? About the end of times for example? Does anyone know which other songs has he done that with?

I guess they are his songs, so he DOESN'T have to play them. I love the 'teasing segment', though I would have loved to hear them played too! He's just having a laugh, I wouldn't get so upset about it. The overall concerts are pretty damn full of goodness.

He's just having fun as you should be. Don't fret, just be thankful that you're seeing him live at a time when the majority of Prince fans around the World would love to be in your shoes right now.

At one point during last Tuesday's concert (in particular during 1999), I just thought of all the P fans around the World who would have killed to have been sitting where I was right at that point.

Oooo...I don't know....I'm not sure I'm ready!! And I wouldn't want to be there when he drops SOTT and I self-combust like last time, what a mess that would be!

C'mon, relax. Stop taking yourself so serious. Prince is just toying with you. That's called playing with the audience. It just part of the show....

Prince isn't ready for it again. It seems like he can't bring himself to go back to his heyday. Sure, he sings some hits and some fan favourites but never the REAL fan favourites.

I'm sick of him playing it TOO safe, it's hella boring.

Judging by the responses, it should be called "pissing the audience's off".

I'm going to try to get to another concert in September. He didn't do the sampler set on the nights I was there (1st and 7th August) but I think I would have liked to have witnessed one.

Sign Of The Times is a great song but is it really a crowd pleaser at concerts?? He definitely has funkier hits, like I Wanna Be Your Lover or Soft and Wet that I think I'd rather hear if I had to choose.

I'm not a huge fan of When Doves Cry

Maybe the samples are enough. Leave you wanting more.

Eeeehrm...in my opinion (and of course this is MY point of view....tastes are different)...it was a torture that he only played a few samples of "Erotic City" or SOTT....but full versions of "Let´s go crazy" and "Purple Rain"....
Before the gig started I said to my girl "I hope he´s not going to play the 1.017th version of Purple Rain....I can´t stand it anymore."... neutral

I think the real question should be "Is Prince ready for me"...there's no way that Minneapolis Punk can handle my moves yet, no way!! biggrin

All joking aside I though the sampler set he played was one of the highlights of the show. As Prince said, he has too many hits so it was a good way of giving just a taste of some of his other classics that he might not have had time to perform full versions of....I could see the problem if the rest of the show was full of obscure, crappy Prince tracks, but its not, its front to back classic, covers and hits. The little sampler set was one of the best audience participation parts of the night to and I love those moments when the crowd really gets involved singing lines back.

If the man would have played all his hits in full and tried to please everyone

in one night, it would have been called "21 hours in London"

I think it's called showmanship when he teases us. cool
