That being the case, it must be the case that those that choose to have kids do so with their eyes open to the fact that going on holiday, going clubbing, pubbing or to concerts (such as Prince) is going to be that much more difficult from there on in. There's a guy in this office who is always moaning about holidays being so much more hassle now he has kids...like he didn't know that before he chose to have them!!!

Right...I'll get down off my soapbox now!! Apologies for the whinge!! biggrin

When did i complain about having kids what i said was there was added costs to childminding!
and Prince should have played the bloody aftershow gave all in the club happy memories and we could all have went home happy even if the man had played one song!!!!! that was just tooooo much for him.

Kornie ... where are u from ... I'm from Belgium and my current bill including travel and hotel is around 600 euros... if you spent 1000's then either you took a private jet and/or stayed at an expensive hotel ... neither of which is required for this tour wink

Well you know what my costs were more than me wait a minute you must be a FAM!!!!!GOOD FOR YOU

I have also spend quite a lot of money on travel and hotel for my Prince weekend the 11th of August. I can relate with Kornie, it's a disappointment bawl there was no "real" aftershow and tickets for another night don't work for me either.
BUT I AM NOT GOING TO LET THAT SPOIL THE GREAT EVENING I HAD AT THE MAINSHOW excited excited

I'm glad it didnt spoil it for you as i said everyone is different just fed up of all these people telling me how i should feel and that its ok for this or that or whatever crap reason they come up with for Prince to do this its not on

Three of us travelled over from Belfast on Sat 11th August - £117 for flight, £85 for hotel, about 35 for trains etc and we were so psyched about the concert but even more so about the aftershow and waited in line for over an hour only to be told by the POLICE that Prince had cancelled. We were devastated.

All the euphoria of the concert was blown away but this totaly lack of thought or caring for his fans. For someone who is supposed to be all religious these days - what ever happened to that wonderful Christian ideal of 'do unto others etc etc' I'm not religious but I am spiritual and am dumbstruck that he would just decided - "fuck it - I couldnt bother my heels to play"

Of course we are crazy fans and are going back for another spanking on Thursday 13th September - think Karma went our way as we got 2 VIP tix that would normally be £235 for £65 each on ebay - sweet! and as there is no aftershow on the wednesday - fingers crossed he will see fit to honour us and play.

Anyone going to any of the shows - whatever you do DON'T boo when he does the medley - cheer cheer cheer - there was a big section of the lower tier that kept booing when he would change songs in the medley and he wasn't happy - I think that had a big part to play with him not playing - no excuse tho. I was talking to a lot of people in the queue that night from Germany, Holland, Italy and a girl from Japan - who couldnt change their tickets. I didn't care about getting a refund as money dont matter 2night but it was the way the people at tha O2 and Indigo2 dealt with it - they tried to make out we were idiots and were basically trying to shoo us away - disrespectful - ain't nice.
Nah nah na...Hold on to your wigs!

Im pretty sure he made an appearance at the main show ;o) Are you seriously telling us that the whole night was a waste and ruined because you didnt get an extra 10 minutes of Prince? Thats all he has been doing when he shows up. Last Saturday was just the luck of the draw and way more than I ever would have expected.

Yes I am because I dont live in london stayed in the indigo after waiting in queues for ages then waited for prince for hours left indigo at 4.30am then waited over an hour for a taxi then had to get my bags and go for a flight back home..

yes it did ruin my whole trip I'm so disapointed i feel let down i was sold the ticket from the box office and had asked the guy will prince be there were upon he told me yes he'll play an hour set

yes im fucking upset with people like you who ccant understan anyone elses feelings mine me my trip was ruined! who are you to tell me any different?

Settle down there chief. You are entitled to be misserable. Does not affect me. You never mentioned that you were lied to by ticket master. I had no expectations of Prince playing. Its a shame to let the aftershow (and it WAS an aftershow unless it was the ONE show where no live music was played) ruin everything else. You are certainly entitled to be unhappy. Some people just cant be pleased. Maybe Prince should swing by your house and give you a hug. I suppose you would then be unhappy that he didnt give you a kiss too.

I totally empathise with you babe - same experience here - its the shock isn't it? My friend was calling him a VCPP - Vertically Challenged Purple Pixie - it was the only thing that made us laugh - she is a life long fan- bought a new purple bag - purple shoes - got purple panels dyed into her hair - she looked da bomb and its all those wee subtle things that you just want to sit down with Prince and say "look...we are devastated...why did you do this?" I even went to the Belfast Telegraph and we had our photos in it an everything - it was the only way I felt he woudl see our sad faces. Of course - no one from Prince or the O2 or AEG where available to comment. Its the way they dealt with it. If they had shown any sympathy - it may have soothed the pain but they acted like we were idiots - not nice.

I did go off on a slight tangent there, so apologies if you thought I was having a dig at you.....you did mention that you have to think about travel costs, hotel bills, childminders, days of work etc and that Prince should "think about that and give all his fans what they deserve". I really don't see how that is viable. Its not Prince's fault that we chose to live far away from the O2, decided to have kids, work somewhere where gettting a day off is tricky. And other than making the tickets cheap (£30) and playing plenty of dates (21 nights) I can't see that he can do anymore to make the shows accessible for everyone, short of making them free and down 100 nights in different stadiums and venues all over the country.

That´s the point....exactly....and on the other side.. I could´ve been angry about the fact that he´s not going to tour in the rest of Europe....was it possible for me to join one of his gigs in USA ? Nope
It is HIS decision....and it is MY decision to travel to the place where he´s going to play. And the organizer of the aftershow never mentioned that Prince is going to play....
Sorry but I don´t catch some peoples problem.

The only thing I asked him to do was play at the aftershow that i was told he would be playing at.. as ive said it did not say on my ticket there might be a chance he wouldnt turn up it was sold as an officail aftershow nothing about party.....
All I want is my refund thats fair isnt it? i mean now ive probebly spent the same again on phone calls to the 02...
In life there are things that are right and things that are wrong it was Princes fault and his only... I'm his fan I bought the ticket to see him no one else therefore his responsibility...not 02 ticketmaster or anyone else his....

IRISHFAN

I travelled from Ireland to see Prince on the 17th August - which I did. Myself and my best friend thoroughly enjoyed the main concert and had tickets for the 17th. I had been well aware from visiting the org and 3121.com that he may not show at the aftershow, so I told my friend not to expect it and enjoy the night. We arrived back home on the 18th after a fantastic experience and are going again for Sept 21st.

I think the whole aftershow issue shouldnt ruin an otherwise brilliant night, but I cant say that I wasnt a little disappointed, I think that people here have to realise that those poeple that are venting their anger have every right to! The bottom line is that TM did not give the full and correct information relating to VIP tickets, aftershows, and sold out shows AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE. I have a strong feeling that if there wasnt 21 nights in London, giving an awful lot of people an opportunity to go another night easily enough, maybe coz they live locally or within easy travelling distance, then there wouldnt be so many people saying "whats your problem?" - there would be alot of angry people!!!!

Sooooo, try and see if from someone elses point of view please!
