Rilo Kiley covers Purple Rain in concert

Rilo Kiley, some indie rock band I've never heard of, covers Prince. Not usually a news-worthy item but you can actually download a mp3 of them doing a bit of Purple Rain, which is cool. I actually kind of dig their stripped-down version at the very end of the other song. Check it out from the link here: http://www.thebathysphere...-of-3.html

They're a GREAT band. I just posted about their most recent album Under the Blacklight, which is not like the rest of their stuff, a bit more playful poppy. But they're one of those band that seem to morph with every album.

I think it was news worthy. There are lots of bands out there besides Prince & thanks for the heads up!

And Chaka Khan has a new album called Funk This coming out on Sept. 25th where she covers Sign O the Times. Haven't found a clip of it yet but I can just imagine her wailing on the chorus in her signature multi-tracked self background vocal style.

There must be something in the water because my friend took me to see Incubus last Friday and they did a cover of Let's Go Crazy, which according to a report i heard they hadn't done before. It was pretty cool, but their guitar player couldn't quite play the solos as well as Prince, but then again who can?
