Forever In My Life... never used to leave this run on CD; just liked it, never loved it. But hearing it live on tuesday was truly amazing, learnt to appreciate it in a whole new way. Hoping for it again at future shows

The Question of U never blew me away until Prince played it on the Musicology tour.Mixing it with the One and Fallin' was nothing short of brilliant!

Musicology - never really liked this but live is an excellent groove....specially with John Blackwell doing that complicated drum pattern using electronic and acoustic drums

i always thought it was average and i was aware that prince had a habit of playing it live but hid version on the 10th blew me away! his voice was spot on. i love it now!

Didn't really do it for me initially, but then heard them live on 1st night and was dancing big time! And Black Sweat video is great too.

BLACK SWEAT...

....sounds a bit too computerised and clinical on the album but seeing him do it on the 4th was amazing! He grabbed a bass guitar and the track funked hard!! It was the most hard-funking song of the night and sounded so much better as a live track!

Thats a good question because I think that happens quite often with prince songs. Although he is a brilliant studio musician and producer, I often had the feeling that only when you hear a song live you understand what the song is all about. To me that happened for example with "housequake", "anotherloverholenyohead", "face down", "irresistible bitch". Sometimes even the botleg studio version of some songs are much better than the final cut. The final release is sometimes overproduced and in a way kind of dead. In my opinion that happened with: "we can funk", "I can't stop", "crucial".

To be perfectly honest, the album versions of Black Sweat and Lolita sound just fine, but it really does depend on whether you have a professional sound system. Listen to these tracks in a club and you will see what I mean.

I think Take me with U, which is already a classic song and a great song, has a complete transformation live and sounds absolutely fantastic.

You know what I want to hear live though? Fury. Come on Prince, make it so!

Black Sweat (always with P on bass) and 3121 (turns into a funky headbanger with the crowd participation).

That would have to be Planet Earth, Aug. 1st 2007

Most of them which is why it's so difficult convincing your friends to go see him !
I've listened to some studio stuff since seeing him in the last couple of weeks and it's pretty lifeless considering.

Always just liked it on record, but live, just blows me away. It was great on the Aug 10th show, with Prince alone on guitar.

I wish he'd play a longer live version though; I love the version thats on the Sign Of The Times movie, the intro makes the hairs on neck stand on end!! But the song is over in like two minutes of less. Drag it out Prince, let the song build...that would be superb!
