SAT 18th AFTERSHOW - OMG - My Xperience

WHAT A NITE!

I didn't bother with the main gig, as I had seen this twice previously - and as I had been disappointed at a previous aftershow on Friday 3rd, I decided to risk it, knowing P and the band had a break after Saturday's gig.

OMG - what an amazing experience. I have been a Prince fan for over 25 years, and stuck wit h his music through the good and the not so good - and this was the pinnacle of my lifelong appreciation of his musical genius.

I was on the floor at the front, by the little stage steps, not more than 6 feet from Prince - and what a show. Highlight for me was the two Stevie Wonder trax, and tha very very jazzy Ballad of DP - but then him doing a guitar solo right next to me - and I could see every expression and pick of his strings - brilliant. I witnessed a great aftershow, that much I know, but to have been so close to the stage and seen his direction fo the band, his facial expression and his amazing guitar work - at a couple of points I couldn't move I was so in awe - music really does just flow out of him, he is the most consumate musical professional, he is awesome.

That was one hell of a night, got home at 4am, and so buzzing, boy the band gave off some energy that night, I still had it in me at 8pm Sunday night, and then I started to ramble at my wife all about it - Thanks Prince and teh band, fonky London indeed - you guys are too kool for skool!

lol lol I so agree with u, I 2 was at the front of the stage and just 2 watch him play the guitar is mind blowing, it was just best Prince experience for me, I enjoyed the main show altho wished it was a little longer, the aftershow more than made up for it, I haven't stopped smiling yet, Thank u so much Prince, words can't describe how u made me feel biggrin biggrin

Ditto. My first aftershow after 23 years and now i guess i have been spoilt and will probably be comparing any other aftershow i go to with this one and feeling dissappointed!
The joy was threefold for me, it was a fantastic atmosphere, i love to see proper musicians play proper music and you don't get better than that and finally just to be less than 10 feet away from a man i have admired for 23 years and to see how he controls everything and does everything so naturally and thoroughly enjoys himself while entertaining us was a dream come true even better than meeting him face to face as if he was ignorant it would be a huge dissappointment. This really feels like i spent an hour and a half in his presence something i will never forget.

My boyfriend and I went to this after show. We loved it. I shouted a lot - apologies if you were in front of me while I did this headbang
