"When doves cry" played last night?

Setlists aren't the same. There is one on Housequake that says P played a full version of "When doves cry" yesterday, but another here doesn't mention it.

So, people who went there, what is the truth?

No he didn't do the full version... IIRC it was a little snippet when Prince was doodling about on keyboards / sampler.

Only a little sample, but sang quite a bit of Sign O the Times, which was a first and I was so excited

He also sang some of Pop Life, again a first. Julia Stiles and Matt Damon seemed to know all of the lyrics which was cool.

Why are people just wanting to hear that song?! Yes it is good but if thats all you want to hear, sit at home and listen to it on a CD!

When I went to the 2nd gig and people in front of me and to the right of me were keeping saying 'I wonder if he is going to play 'When Doves Cry'?'. I read a post of someone here a few minutes ago and I agree with it:-

O2 is full of people who thought that Prince started with Purple Rain and ended with Kiss.

Hopefully my next Prince gig (Sunday 16th) will be full of Prince fans who want to see him again, and not people who just want hear 'When Doves Cry'

(Don't get me wrong it's a great track, but Prince has got hundreds or great songs I would like to here too!)

Right I am not finished my little rant.

Personally, I'd love if he did 'Good Love', but..hold on....is that??? yes...it's a pig with wings.

When Doves Cry wouldn't even be in my top 10 or 20 Prince songs. But I can understand people wanting to hear it. But he has sooooo many great songs, and so little time on stage to fit half of them in.

Wow!!! Take it easy man!! How can u know what's in my head? I asked that question because "When Doves Cry" is one of my favorite songs and I'd be happy if he plays it when I go to the 31st. But I love plenty of other songs and see Prince on stage is enough for me to be satisfied.

The fact is that he hadn't played that song fully yet in London and I was wondering if his setlist is going to evolve in the next shows, as for 1999 that he played for the first time this week.

But when I read your post, u seem to be the one and only true Prince fan, having the right to judge other people here... Congratulations...

Of course campfire
I too want to kick the ass of those who are going to take a drink during Maceo's playing... I was just a little angry to be considered as one of those assholes.

I know what you mean. When I went Maceo kicked it all off with when the saints go marching in and it was great, but it seemed everyone just went to see Prince and not listen to listen to the music!

Well next time I am going hopefully it would be better, in fact I know it would be great!!!

Matt was in the VIP section at the tip of the symbol by block B2. He was with his daughter and knew all the Prince songs.

I was wondering who was in the VIP section, coz there was a big commotion and lots of security but I couldnt see from row W!!! My friend was reading the paper this morning and put 2 + 2 together to figure out who the blond one was on stage singing - Julia Siles. Who else was in the VIP section?
