reply from ticketmaster about Sat 11th Afternoshow

I just spoke to ticketmaster about the No show at the aftershow on Saturday night and they replied that they are waiting to hear back from the promoters about what course of action to take, but they will be contacting people who purchased tickets some time this week.

If I get a reply I will post

Hi,

Saskia speakin'
Because the week before also was a BIG dissapointment we already started a complaint. This is what we got after mailing it:
Thank you
Thank you for taking the time to write to BBC Watchdog...

Because we receive so many emails, faxes, letters and phone calls, we are unable to respond personally to each and every one. However, your correspondence will be read by our research team and if we are able to pursue your complaint, a researcher from the Consumer Unit will contact you.

Once again, many thanks

The Watchdog Team

I will be doing this tomorrow Mike. The queue on Saturday was ridiculous and I just wanted my bed so after counting about 20 ppl deep, I decided I would do this when I get there Tuesday, to try to swap for tomorrow night.

And believe me, if they don't wanna change my tickets, the whole queue will hear about it biggrin

I actually think it was great to know for sure that he wasn't going to show (although we still deliberated whether to stay just in case for a good hour or more!), and I hope they remain true to their word. I spoke to several different people with AEG and Indigo badges, and they all told me that I could exchange my tickts.

I will let you know how I get on!

So I was exactly the same on Sat night - looked at the Q and thought - I need my bed.

Luckily for me I work in Canary Wharf - so just popped over after work ... Ok .. well there was one (stroppy) woman on the Box Office and I was very polite. Ok .. you CAN swap tickets - but not for sold outs - I tried for Sep 21st .. can't blame a boy for trying ! ;o) .. so was offered another night.. but as I don't know how many more I'm doing, I Said I was offered a full refund - 'you'll 'ave to speak to customer SERvices - won't ya' .. well can i ? .. No ... are they here ... yes ... well can you ask someone to come and talk to me... no ... why not? ... [turns microphone off and opens book] ... I laughed at her

So I'm going to call them tomorrow - Yawn - sigh - blah.
He was right - a new name does feel mighty fine....now for some fun - MWA HA HA HA

I spoke to Ticketmaster again this morning and they told me the official line from the promoters was that they could only exchange tickets for another night.

However he also told me that ticketmaster was pushing the promoters to give a full refund as they had so many complaints about the no show. I was advised to wait a day or two and then call back. They should have it resolved by then

I got this email via ticketmaster. I take it to mean you can ask for a refund:

We have now had confirmation from the promoters that in order for you to obtain a refund you must request this by writing to the following address:

AEG Live

Ticketing

32nd Floor

25 Canada Square

Canary Wharf

London E14 5LQ

If you would like to exchange your tickets for another night you must return your tickets to the above address with an accompanying letter which must include the following:

Name the tickets were booked under
Last 4 digits of card used to book
Reference number
Address
Contact telephone Number
The customer also needs to specify 3 date choices for swapping their tickets as some may not be possible

I phoned ticketmaster on Monday on my return to Manchester from London, I got a call yesterday from Kimberley at Ticketmaster, saying I had to send a letter of complaint direct to AEG live at the address above, who were dealing with the 11th August aftershow, she said they were exchanging for alternate nights, but you still had to write to AEG to handle this, as i'm from Manchester and wasn't going to the O2 again I asked about a refund, she said I had to write to AEG Live, it was upto them, but she hadn't heard about anyone being refunded, just exchanges.

I've sent a letter of complaint to AEG about the aftershow, also about the VIP ticket fiasco as I paid nearly £500 for 2 tickets on that lottery !!! I get the general feeling AEG are gonna offer exchange's only and blame Prince for not showing up.

I blame the AEG/Ticketmaster for arranging these aftershows without knowing exactly what Prince was planning, I also blame Prince for not doing something for the fans, who travel from all over to see him, then he decides to go out on the town with his mates and stuff the 2000 fans at the Indigo.

I still don't understand why Prince and his management agreed to this deal, obviously a money earner, but he can't be that broke he needs to sell another 2000 tickeets ontop of 22,000 everynight? its well known Prince go's out partying after gigs and if he happens to turn up at a club/aftershow your at, its cool, but not expected, by selling tickets as they did, they set an expectation as its a contract, they intentionally billed them as aftershows, knowing what fans of Prince understood aftershows are mean't to be, at the end of the day, I bought aftershow tickets hoping Prince would play, but not expecting it for the amount of nights they were on, but Prince/AEG should have arranged for some live entertainment, like last night the NPG played, no Prince, I would have been happy with that, all that was on offer on the 11th was a dodgy DJ who didn't know Prince tracks and a £50 cab fair home to the hotel at 5am after waiting 2 hours for the cab, not a great deal for a £27.50 aftershow !!!

What Prince should have done for these aftershows was arrange acts to come and play, the there would be no obligation on Prince to perform/turn up, bill it as a Paisley park night, we could have had Wendy & Lisa some nights, the Time, Jill Jones, Sheila E, DR Fink, Eric Leeds sessions etc, that would have been cool, fans would have been happy, the supports would have made something out of it and had a great time grooving with Prince fans again. what ever happened to Tevin Campbell ?????

ohhhh just checked Wikipedia, Tevin Campbell went down the George Michael route, have the LA police got nothing better to do than hang around toilets ???
