I just feel its sad that it has come to this.
Most pics taken will be of very poor quality and not resellable.
Mobile phones will be banned next and over zealous security will be running raids into the crowds to disarm people.
Prince needs to get a life.
Next thing after that will be strip searches and banning of anything you can name.
How about worrying about just entertaining the Fans.

Yep I received the exact same 2day too. Havin taken my camera on the 7th, I think it is better to leave them at home, I mean, how can you enjoy the show to it's full extent, when you are stuck looking through a lens half the night? It restricted me from gettin funky lol

I am planning to spend the day sightseeing with friends before rounding the day off with the concert. I plan to take my camera with me all day. Do they take your camera away from you or stop you comming in. Im not leaving my camera at home for the whole day.

You'll probably be ok with mobiles, I think they mean anything other than that..

Did some major incident that we don't know about happen to trigger the strict anti camera movement.

From Princes point of view I can see he would get pretty sick of the constant red eye reduction lights and flashes in his direction whilst trying to concentrate on giving a fantastic performance.

Do they do a search on you when you enter the O2 or the indigo?

I can't keep my camera at home, because i want sightseeing london.

I don't want to use it in the o2.

When they put the camera, how can you get it afterwards?

yeah I can kind of see where Prince is coming from, having taken pics and vids on mobiles before youre not dancing along as much and the quality is often bad, better to just give the gig 100% attention.

Just thought I sound like a hypocrite putting that as I take gig photos but... wouldn't want to at Prince's I'd be too busy worrying about getting right pic instead of enjoying P. I got some good shots of Jarvis recently on my old digital cam but only took them during 2 songs so I could really appreciate being at front.

I myself can see that it would be ever so annoying if they allowed everbody to bring cameras...I mean who wouldn't want to take at least one picture of the great man! Imagine how many flashes would be going off all the time...It would be horrible...However I do object to security acting like the gestapo over someone who got past their strict searches at the door...This was Tuesday night in block 104, I wonder if anyone else was there? I was so distracted I had to say something...I asked if there were a fight going on and he said no just people with cameras, to which I said that it was spoiling my evening and to my suprise it worked...They weren't so full on after that...x
honesty is the best policy...

went to the aftershow last night, and as we were queuing, security came along and told everyone that no cameras (including mobiles) were allowed and you'd be asked to leave if seen using one. they weren't confiscating anyones phones/cameras on the way in and didn't bother doing bag checks either.

but once in, any whiff of someone using a camera and security were shining torches on people and some of the oh so helpful audience gave them a hand and pointed to whoever had a mobile out! my mate was sending a text at one point and had some guy (audience) practically glued to her side making sure she wasn't going to take a pic.

one good thing though, was that there was no dodging the cameras to get a look at the stage.

a message to over-zealous fans - let security do their job, and you do yours - enjoy the gig.
