I am and have been in discussion with Ticketmaster all blasted week. They have been very professional and courteous, but that doesn't mean I have a refund or alternative aftershow tickets - not yet anyway.

I have requested alternative aftershow tickets, now in the knowledge that prince may not show - we shall see.

I had information from Ticketmaster midweek that they had been in major discussions with the promotor, AEG and that it was AEG who were now dealing. I have tried contacting them and they seem to know nothing at all - so my contract is with Ticketmaster, and that is who I am now dealing with on this matter going forward. I expect a refund or alternative show tickets.

The Fri 3rd Indigo deal has been a shambles from beginning to end, so I am not letting go of this one!

Hi Kornie.

I have been sent round the houses on this but I believe I am finally getting somewhere.
I have had a reply from Neva Elliott from 'customerservices@theo2.co.uk' who has forwarded the issue on to the Operations manager of The Indigo2.
This came about after I spoke with a chap called Vincent on the O2 helpline who responded to my original E mail.

Although I sent a letter to the complaints section at Ticketmaster HQ in Manchester, I don't expect a response. I know there is a lot of feedback about Ticketmaster being at fault but I believe that the venue is part of AEG/O2 and as such the problem does lie with them.

Ticketmaster are just agents for selling the tickets. It is as simple as that!

People, why u stressin? just issue a county court claim to ticketmaster. you will be surprised with the speed at which they respond!

On another note, I think there are a few reasons for not "guaranteeing" that P will play at the aftershow. The ones I can think of are:
- keeps the mystery
- he may genuinely be tired after a 2hr+ show
- there would be huge queues if the public knew he was doing a show in a venue 10% the size of O2 Arena - so not good for Arena ticket sales

I am far from stressed Spongebobsquarepants, I am prepared to start a small claims action but i wish to avoid that where possible.
It would be a claim against AEG/O2 and not ticketmaster for the reasons on my first post!!which you obviously have not read.

By the way, i take it that you have started a claim against Ticketmaster and have been surprised by the response?

OK sorry you are right it's AEG. Yep I claimed and they settled. Worth a shot. Once you file a claim they have to reply within 28 days and if they dont, you win. The court costs arent much and you can do it online at moneyclaim.gov.uk
I wasn't trying to be cold when I said to stop stressing, just trying to help.

im sorry but it has been stated on 3121.com that prince may not show at the aftershows and i believe also on ticketmasters website so how can people who are talking about county court claims be serious you wont win so i would seriously consider this before taking this action cause if you lose you may well be out of pocket even more for example the fee is about £30.00 to make a claim also if you lose you may very well end up paying for the other parties legal fees.

like i sad before i doubt you would win the Small Claim.

Neva probably doesn't exist..... personally I've been shocked by the utter lack of professionalism from Ticketbastards. Maybe it's not their fault but legally as consumers, our gripe is with them. After, of they want to attack Prince or AEG or whoever it's their problem.
Rain is wet.................

Cream has mentioned the 3121 site. The 3121 site does not run the Indigo2 venue and has absolutely no bearing on how the tickets are sold. Let's get it right(and for those who cannot read the previous postings) AEG owns the venue and they are responsible for what happens at the venue. Ticketmaster act only as agents and are given the information from AEG. The tickets are clearly AEG promtions and it is printed all over the tickets.
It is AEG who should refund the price for the tickets, that's why I have today made a small claims against AEG via the Money claim online which is part of HMRC.
It has cost £30 but I believe it to be the only way I will get my money back.
I will keep you posted on the outcome. If I win I also get the £30 costs.

PS Neva Elliott does exist as I received an e mail from her today!!

Let me know how you get on tally4142, I have been given 2 VIP tickets in Block E2, which is a restricted view behind the stage/drum kit, AEG/TM refused to exchange or refund these, I argued that VIP AD stated they were the best seats in the house, being a restricted view at the back of the stage breaches that contract, so I intend to persue them in the small claims court for the £470 I paid plus expenses.

I really respect you guys for not letting this go.

It wasn't so much that Prince didnt play. You know it's never a guarantee with him. For me it was the shambolic way in which the thing was run. There was no communication. And just having the Planey Earth cd playing over the PA was a slap in the face.

Good luck!

I didn't do anything as we did get Dr John but I was seriously pissed off after bringing the car down and sitting on the floor until 3.30 a.m. Man I'm too old for this. Princes guitar was initially on stage and whipped off around 1.30. I would have understood if he was tired but why not tell us so we could go home?

This small claim point is just a strategy. Do you really think AEG (or any organisation for that matter) have the time to investigate, instruct lawyers and be represented at court? it's far cheaper for them to settle the refund. And the losing party doesn't always pay the other side's costs. It's upto the judge. What do you think a judge would decide on when hearing this claim?

Yes Spongebobsquarepants. You have answered this yourself!! It is far cheaper for AEG to give a refund but I doubt if they would without the extra pressure of a small claims action.
I have thoroughly investigated all the details on the HMCS website and if you did the same instead of being so cocky then you would see that the small claim is weighted in the claimant's favour.
Furthermore, has anyone else received a refund for the farce of an aftershow on 3rd August? I don't think so.
I suggest that unless you are actually trying to get a refund don't add to this thread [snip - CarrieMpls] !!

OK calm down. This message was for Cream72, whom I quoted. I recall I suggested the small claims first on this thread and now you are the one behaving like an expert having read the website once, no? I've used moneyclaim.gov.uk several times before. I've claimed a refund for the aftershow and waiting to hear back. And sorry you think I'm being a twat. I'm just trying to help you and other members. So looks like you're just embarrassing yourself with such comments. And why do you keep calling me spongebobsquarepants? Nuff said.
