The first concert I went on my own and the people in my row were boring farts !! A couple to the left of me and three people on the right of me who spent 50% of the time on their seats as if they were in a cinema.

The woman on the left of me asked me whether if Prince was close to finishing as her and her boyfriend turned up at 8.45 thinking he had been on stage from 6pm. I said to her he was only into his 2nd song after which she sat down on her seat and started texting on her phone for the next 20mins !!! God it makes me mad !! chair

I mean, why bother???

When I was at George Michael at Wembley during Jesus To A Child a real sweet quiet number 3 people were chatting loudly behind, thing is the more I think about how they're driving me mad the more angry I get and takes the joy outta the gig, so instead I chose to 'zone' out of them and onto George as if you start giving too many looks or say shut up you can end up with an altercation that spoils the whole gig. Why they can't 'catch up' on their lives on the way there I dont know! smile

Im a Brit myself and this is so true, everything from ipods to Harry Potter, Brits tend to follow the crowd, and Prince is the hottest thing in London right now.

Not to have a go but... what absolute rubbish!

A few wankers in the audience and suddenly ALL British people are trendy scenesters uninterested in real music? Come on people, don't tar us all with that brush. These gigs have been monumentally well received.

People are getting so into it, all over the arena, and that's surprising to me because frankly, he isn't doing as many hits as most of the casual fans would like. The joint is jumping during all the songs, even all the solos. I've been pleasantly surprised at the crowd's attitude at these shows.

yeah don't tar us all with the same brush, I love Prince and his music thanks and know alot of other people who do. I used to work for a record company and sometimes got offered tickets to see people I didn't really like but I knew others out there loved, it is unfair and I know thats prob happening with AEG staff etc... When I saw Fleetwood Mac at Earls Court down the front, the whole row in front kept getting up and getting drinks and chatting and didn't watch the gig at all, I only paid £40 outside for tkt but the poor lady next to me had paid £300 on ebay as she had a child with special needs and didn't go out much so saved up to get a good ticket, if only some of the people who chat and label staff took that kind of stuff into account.

I had people in front of me AND behind me talking loudly through 'Somewhere Here On Earth' as well as people in my row coming and going - ruined the song for me; didnt know who go mad at first.

Also some drunk non-fan man staring at the stage and asking over and over to his friends "whats that symbol? whats that symbol?". I mean, come on! mad

You see this is ONE of the reasons why the priority ticketing offered by being a member of NPGMC was SOOOOO good! It meant:

1) Prince's biggest fans all sat/stood together giving THEM the best/most exciting experience

2) Prince had the biggest freaks closest to the stage giving him the love and respect his music and performance commands

ONe problem with a venue like the O2 is that the lower tier is actually a better vantage point than the floor so what COULD have been done was to have the first 6-10 rows of the blocks 102, 106, 107, 111 along with A3, B1, D2 and D3 available initially ONLY through NPGMC (and if they didn't sell out then make them available to general public a few days later). I mean damn, if they are really guaranteed best seats in the house I'd have happily paid £62.42 for them!
'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

At the gig I went to, I had Scottish, Italian and Germans all around me - all definately knew his music more than me, yet a number were chatting all night (well, apart from the hits).... so don't just blame the Brits and certainly don't just blame non-fans.

I went to the Aug 1st concert on my own.The couple to the right of me didn´t dance or sing at all, if fact they only stood up a few times. The couple to the left of me arrived 20 minutes late and then arrived with their dinner (noodles, chips etc) and sat and ate it for another 20 mins then had a chat. They remained seated all night and left before the end. The atmosphere was pretty poor where I was sitting.I danced all night but thought it was a shame that nooone else around me was dancing or even singing. And I ´personally thought it was rude for people to talk all the way through Renato´s solo and other ballads by Prince. Bring back One Nite Alone...

You hear of the venue staff moving the pretty girls in nice dresses to any empty stage suites etc. I think the same should apply to the poor excited fans stuck in a block of boring farts!! Move the bores around to bheind the band in Block 116 so they can sit and shut up while the rest of us have a party with a good view.

Oh god i totally agree with that, i was there on the 14th and i was fumming with all the chatting going on during "Somewhere here on earth" it was so bad that i could barely hear him singing. And dont get me started at the people going back and forth to get drinks.
I mean i dont have a problem with people drinking, but ffs if u'd think that if they were so desperately in need a bloody drink of beer they could wait until he goes and get changed? (which is bad enough). Its nothing but dis-respectful to the band and Prince.

Ive got to say that ive seen a lot of people just sitting quietly...How can this b possible?? How can they not want to get up and shake their ass?

I think we should get a petition up, make them take a test to get tickets lol, anyone with a low % correct aint allowed in!!! ok maybe thats a bit much but hell u get my point.

I've never understood the mentality of getting completely slaughtered at an entertainment event. Maybe cos I don't really drink much at all. When I do it's just as a relaxant to help me socialise. After one or two that's me done and I'm on soft drinks for the rest of the night because I'm already in the right mood.

Other than that, glass of wine with a dinner, maybe a cocktail or two in a nightclub, Sangria or Pimms in the garden in the summer...

I can't stand the whole binge drinking culture. Maybe it's because my parents always let me have wine at the dinnr table as early as the age of 4 or 5, so guzzling down alcohol to act like an idiotic slut and to feel like shit in the morning has never appealed. Please say other people here do the same!!

I dont dare to judge what people do...drugs/drink etc, But getting out of hand especially in a concert is over the step..keep that crap for a rave!

I admit for both times i was high..smoked a lil, popped a lil etc..but contained myself in great vibes..also shared my energy to the neighbouring fans ..loved it!
