I think it depends on the vibe on the day. The main show should be full of Prince fans given it's the last night, so that should make for a good atmosphere and maybe that'll spur him on. But there's every possibility he won't play.

I think the one thing we can all learn from the past few weeks is that most fans' expectations have been very very high and in some cases, those expectations/assumptions/call them what you will have fallen short of what has actually come to pass so far (i'm thinking the no-shows at the AfterParties, no Sheila E or Wendy, etc. etc.)

I'd like to think he'll be there as i'm going too but I think we should not get carried away.
All of my hang-ups have gone. How I wish you felt the same.

Well, after a remarkable opening show the first aftershow should've been a unique and unforgettable too also filled with enthusiastic "fans" not drunks. Prince showed up thank God but the vibe was really mediocre and he played very little and sang ONE song 3121....I was thrilled to be so close to him and watch him play so intimately however I couldn't help but feeling disappointed and now that I've read all the reviews of the other aftershows I can't stand the fact that I won't have the chance to go to another gig.Unfortunately I can't afford flying from Israel again and the last time I tried to convince my husband to go again just ended uglily 15 minutes ago . I'm insanely jealous of all those who watched him play and sing for two hours!! So, as said before: Don't expect anything . I seriously doubt the fact that he won't show up on his last aftershow but that doesn't mean Prince's going to jam till dawn.

It'll be his last chance of the tour to get up on stage, and the last time he plays here in the UK (I'm not sure about ever, but certainly for a while)...so I'll be very, very surprised if we don't get at least a couple of songs from him at the Aftershow.

That having been said, a Party is what you make it so if he doesn't show we'll just have to convince the DJ to spin plenty of classic Prince all night.

who knows ?
It's a lottery.
4 hours of staring at a black curtain vs. the best club show you'll ever see.

Don't underestimate the night before - what a shame if everyone thinks the best shows ever will be on the final night and it all happens the night before.

there's a strong possibility he won't play. he didn't play an aftershow on the last nite of the tour the last couple of times toured the uk in 2002 and 1998

he may turn up and it's just a dance party, or another band playing, or he might not even turn up. even in mpls at the end of some of the first 2 cellys he didn't play at the final nites aftershows at paisley park

if you expect him to turn up and perform, you are prolly heading for dissapointment, but if you have little to no expectations you might end up pleasantly surprised

Why did Prince cancel his aftershow gig at Indigo at the O2?

I flew over to London from Belfast on Saturday (11th Aug) morning – endured an hour delay in departure, 50 mins delay in the air, 30 mins delay on the runway and 30 mins delay in getting our baggage – other people were calling it the flight from hell but my sister and her friend Valerie and I didn’t care as we were on our way to see Prince at the O2 and we had aftershow tickets for Indigo and were soooo excited. We are both massive Prince fans and seen him in concert in Dublin and Cork. The concert itself was amazing but he did ‘waste’ a lot of time performing songs like ‘Play that funky music white boy’ and ‘Freak Le Chic’ which were fantastic but it left less time for him to play hits or even some new songs. He played Black Sweat and Lolita from 3121 which was brilliant but that was it. We were hoping to hear lots of the newer stuff at Indigo. But after the concert we got in the longest queue in the world and waited patiently. We were so thirsty after two hours of dancing like crazy people but we were still on the crest of euphoria knowing we were about to see him again in a much more intimate venue. The police eventually told us he wasn’t coming and the O2 staff themselves were very sketchy on any kind to feedback or explanation. They kept saying that there was never any guarantee that he was going to play but I argured that when you go on the website www.theo2.co.uk – when you book tickets it sayd Prince at the O2 and Prince at Indigo – you click through this description to book the tickets. Saturday sold out and we eventually got tickets on ebay but was on the O2 site everyday before that checking if any more tickets had been release so it was well after we actually go tickets that they added the quote about no guarantee. Its a bizarre piece of copy tho – something along the lines of ‘you know those crazy cats – expect the unexpected.” what sort of a disclaimer is that?!!!

We did actually go to the aftershow party as we were speaking to the bar manager of one of the other bars in the O2 and he said he had heard that Prince wasn’t going to turn up on other nights and he turned up with Beverly Knight and they did a 2hour jamming set – also – as we couldn’t get out money back and the only option was to change the ticket to another night which was no good for us - we thought we might as well go – obviously he didn’t turn up tho but the air of expectation in that club was palpable! There was a lot of security activity at one stage and the DJ played Kiss and everyone was whipped up into a frenzy again with the idea that he might be on his way. There was about 1000 people who still used their tickets as they couldn’t come back on another date. I was speaking to a couple of Scottish guys and they were in the same position as us as thinking – its worth a try – as they couldn’t come back. We also spoke to a girl from Japan that had flown over on her own! People from Holland, Spain, Italy and Germany – all over for the weekend to see Prince and couldn’t come back on Tuesday. You could cut the despair with a knife. I didn’t hear one English accent in the queue or around us at the Concert. Its rubbish that Prince has done that when its all the international fans coming to see him at the weekend.

Valerie kept saying she would just love to sit down with Prince and ask him why he didn’t turn up. He has been noted to say he doesn’t have fans – he has friends – why would you treat your friends like that?!

Any chance any of u orgers have any insider explanation? We just want Prince to realise how devasted every one of the fans who couldn’t change their tickets are. Its like having the rug pulled out from under you feet. We’re gutted.
havu had u + today ? fookn rite !
