Why do they put your name on the tickets? To stop re-sale?

ID is not required. I guess the name is used as just some kind of tracking system. If someone were to report a ticket or batch of tickets as stolen it is just another bit of info that can be verified if need be.
ID wouldn't work at all unless done along the same lines as this years Glastonbury - as what's the use if my name is on 6 tickets and i have given 5 to friends who will be arriving at different times? | |

Thats what I thought but I couldnt figure why they would bother...hadnt thought of duplicate/security.
If forgers made tix I bet they could check and say "hang on this ticke is registered to Mr Paddington Bear"...go on in Mr bear whilst you Mr Counterfieter are going to jail!!!! Silly me | |
