Stage Suites...did you pay £250 to Ticketmaster for one and did you get up on stage?

Just wondering because I know it's widely beleived that the "best available" seats Ticketmaster are offering means you'll end up in the suite at the top of the symbol with a rear view of the stage.

Plus when I went on Saturday night I noticed that the whole of the suite in front of my block (D2) got up on stage, and I know people in the suite in front of the B blocks did too, but I don't recall seeing anyone getting up from that third suite at the top part of the symbol. This leads me to believe that the two front facing suites are for "corporate" guests only and they are the one's with the priviledge of stage access, and that rear facing suite is where everyone else ends up. Am I right or not? Just trying to ascertain what exactly £250 gets you compared to the £235 I shelled out for VIP? Has anyone purchased? Which suite were you in and did you get to dance up there with Prince?

I paid £1000 for the stool right next to the steps of the access to the stage on the left hand side of the symbol. However, come the time to get on stage I rushed for the steps but I had drun so much complementary champagne that I tripped over the gold impregnated rope that surrounded just me and my magnum of bollinger neutral

I think all the people that are allowed on stage are set up and not "normal" fans. This looked especially true on the 11th August show. The first show looked like it had genuine fans on stage though cos people were bumping into Prince and generally bad singers/dancers. It was much more fun to watch. lol

This was exactly what I thought was the case! I was so tempted to buy the stage suite tickets for the 11th even after I'd already paid for my VIP one's. In the end though common sense interevened and I didn't. But then on the night I was gutted when I saw people from the suites getting up to dance. If paying £250 doesn't buy you stage access and those people are a "set up" then I'm not dissapointed, but I'm still curious to find out either way!

Who was the lass in the purple dress, when the 'fans' were on stage?

She brought out a violent streak in me - I wanted her to turn an ankle and fall off the stage...

brick

The white guy was ace though and I liked his emphatic 'No!' when he was asked if he could sing.
I'm not stopping. I haven't even taken my coat off

My other half was like...."Is she serious? You get one chance in your life to dance next to Prince and you throw out those shapes?"

I gave him a slap for that though! My reasoning? Although I too felt a similar urge to yourself when I saw her I put this down to the fact that I was massivley jealous, and given the chance I can't guarantee that I'd put in a performance that was any better!

I'm a trained dancer, but then judging by her physique and that mega high kick she threw out at one point I assume she's had some training of some sort and I think she probably fancies herself as a professional dancer. All that crossed my mind was that she must have thought "this is it, it's now or never if I want him to notice me" and like I say, if I had that chance I can't guarantee that in my over excitement I'd fair any better. Either way he didn't seem to bat an eyelid at her!

The girl who was sat in front of me though was well impressed by her, so I guess her dance style comes down to personal taste!

I have to agree with you there - I did feel more than a bit smug about that lol The female singers quickly got fed up of her too...

She did fairly well right up to the point where she was within his range and then she went to shit when he was watching. She was probably nervous.

I too am a trained dancer and am qualified to teach (although I don't as I don't have the patience! lol )

I found the girl a bit embarrassing because she didn't look like she was having fun like the others were - she looked like she was trying out for a lapdancing job. Her confidence and the fact that NO ONE tried to go near Prince and they all danced in their own little areas as though it had been choreographed just made the whole "fans on stage" thing look very fake.

It's a bitch isn't it? I only wanted to get up there for a few seconds. It's a life long dream of mine. I found out on another thread that girl in purple and the bloke in the leather jacket just got lucky! They were in the blocks that were a mirror image of mine on the opposite side of the bottom of the symbol. Apparently some people on the front row of blocks B1 & B2 were given special wristbands to enable them to get up on stage if they were approached. I was in D2 on the opposite side and I'm not aware of anyone getting anything similar on my side.

Anyway whilst I was battling with security to be allowed up and the people in the stage suite in front of me were mounting the stage; apparently on the other side Marva had descended from the stage into P Diddy's stage suite area and was getting people up. Those two (the bird in the purple and the guy in the jacket) came out of their block and ran to the red rope and security just let them through! Great for them, but it totally narks me that just a few yards away on the other side of the symbol I was being treated by security like something they'd scrape off their shoe! They were looking at me like I'd gone barmy for even thinking for a second that I'd be allowed up! So seeing her then throwing shapes for all she's worth did bring on the green eyed monster I must admit! lol

My bloke just wouldn't shut up about her!! A few words left his mouth during her "performance" such as:

"transformer"..."epileptic fit"...."electrocuted"....."seriously bad body popping"....followed up with a cautionary line in my ear:

"I'd have killed you if you'd have got up there and embarassed me by dancing like that!"

He can be so harsh!

Really? All I've ben trying to establish is if buying into this stage suite thing buys you stage access but so far no-one can give me a definitive answer, so I gues that means it doesn't!

I coughed up £235 also for a vip ticket and as amazing as the show was, I didnt think the package of a close seat, few free drinks and a cold chicken wrap (all i was being offered) justified the price. I wouldn't have mind sitting a few rows back for £31.21. But when he turned up at the aftershow for an hour and a half, the aftershow ticket was priceless!

I'd probably agree with you were it not for that fact that for the price of my aftershow ticket I got no band, no Prince just a crap DJ.... after nearly an hour and a half of queueing!

I went 2 the 7th Aug show and 8 of us had Blk 106 seats, which was great as he looks this way most of the night. The show was unbelievable, I've seen the guy nearly 50 times and I've been lucky enough 2 get on stage at the first show in Wembley Arena 4 'The Gold tour' and then in Dublin 4 'One Night Alone'. On both of these occasions we just managed 2 get up and run around after Prince, dancing 4 joy and even screaming in2 the mic. In Wembley it was just who every was near the middle at the front, and in Dublin Candy Dulfer picked me out, and I was right at the front in the middle, it felt spontaneous and evry1 felt they had a chance 2 b called up!

This tour seems 2 b much more controlled, my friend's niece was at the show on the 7th also although my friend was sitting with me, she managed 2 get close seats at the top end of the symbol. She said the view was rubbish most of the show, but when it came to him calling people on stage, a security guy came up 2 her and asked if she wanted 2 go onto the stage, she said YES of course. They were going around and picking people. B4 they got onto stage they were warned not 2 run after Prince and not 2 try 2 touch him! She still loved it on stage she had blue jeans and a black top on if any1 went, with long black hair. She was dancing and she said I think 'Charlie' out of Big Brother tried 2 dance with her but she was pissed and the security took her off the stage!

I think this time around it's much more contrived and restrictive, I even managed 2 thank Prince at Wembley and he shook my hand(with 2 fingers though!) In Dublin I was just standing right next to him dancingish 2 Pop Life!

I was a bit jealous, but I think it feels very controlled these days, probably after the 'KOKO assault'!

But the feeling of getting so close, being part of the show and just boogying with the man is great anyway and good luck 2 the crap, weird and wonderful 'dancers', the rest of us just want the chance 2 make a fool of ourselves and b part of the show.

wildsign grouphug

(I feel great - I've managed 2 show off about getting on stage and it's relevant 2 the topic!)
yay! biggrin

Purpleshower

Update on getting onto the stage... you are definitely selected by P's entourage with laminate, in the front row or stage suites, so they decide and then the wrist bands are given out by various security with names written on them with seating. On another note about the purple stage suites, a few girls on the floor were upgraded by entourage to fill the empty suites, they had green VIP wrist bands from somewhere on the floor. Nobody went on stage last night (the very best show I have seen (seen 3)), it appears that security has tightened so you would be gutted if you forked out for the front and stage suites. 14th was an amazing performance and the energy from every soul in the O2 was intense last night biggrin

(I feel great - I've managed 2 show off about getting on stage and it's relevant 2 the topic!)
yay! biggrin

You're so lucky!!! I wouldn't care if I made a complete prat of myself, I'd just be totally over the moon to have gotten the chance to get up there! Well done, I'd brag too if I'd achieved it! xx

Thanks for the update. It does seemed to be very controlled and a tad hit and miss, and it is a lot of money to spend for a seat in the stage suite! x
