3 outta 3 for Black Sweat so far. I never liked it on the album, it makes my ears bleed. And it's the one song I'm really not enjoying at the shows, but as it seems like one of his current favourites I really need to get with the program, so please suggest reasons or redeeming qualities of this song so I can get in to it!!! I gotta lotta shows to go!

Black Sweat was way better live than on the album, was so different it almost felt like a different track , you can really dance to it so just shake your thang and enjoy

and if you enjoy hearing P plucking the bass a la 7779311 it works really well live

I didn't like the song that much at first, but I LOOOVED it when I heard it in a club sometime last year and it brought the house down.

I wasn't a huge fan of the album version to be honest. It's alright.

Live though, I thought it was great. It had a whole new life, like a lot of Prince songs I suppose.

I think Guitar is 10X the song live than it is on the album.

Hated the song. . .skipped it every time. . .until I had those mental images to entertain me while I listen. The man is SMOKIN HOT in the video. In fact, some of my favorite pictures of him are screen caps from that video.

Then I heard it at 3121 in Vegas and now I have some LIVE mental images from about 15 feet away to go with my video images. I'm a serious fan of that song now. LOL!

Not a fan of this song either. This was my toilet break song last night.

It is a funky, 2006 version of 'Kiss'.

The Twins dance sexy to it and show their knickers (probably. I had a birds eye view of their 'groins' about 5 times last night) ...

I felt exactly the same about Black Sweat on the album...it sounded a little to computerised on the album. But as a live track, when I heard it on Saturday it was the song I was least looking forward to but the one that impressed me the most. It sounded awesome live!! Much funkier and dirtier played on a live bass, and Prince was really driving it...the bass hook thundered through the arena!! It was the closet track to Prince circa 81-82 when he was really funking it up we some hard-driving cuts...Sexy Dancer, All the Critics, Head, etc

Personally, I think u either "get" the funk, or u dont. N if u don't, I doubt u will ever like it, live or otherwise. Coz I wud say it is 1 of the least diluted funk tracks of his career.
