Shorter show tonight, but felt like a full show if you catch me? Beverley Knight was a good warm up and did pretty much the same set as last week


Forever In My Life was out of this world! Very similar to the Lovesexy Live Video with the crowd singing "Alright" with Prince screaming and ad libbing. (You know the bit at the end where he sings IT over the beat. Didn't quite do that, but very similar) One of the highlights of the past 7 shows without a doubt.

Oh and 1999 was very funky! Didn't think he'd do this one again in full!

Right at the end they put the synth up on side of stage. It was a double bluff tho.

At the aftashow now and they are playing (not just) knee deep....played 1 nation under a groove a minute ago.....curtains haven't opened yet.....dj is killin it. Big mixing desk and stuff set up that wasn't there on the 4th or 11th.....hmmmmm hope that bodes well.....can hear the band doing a line check behind curtain.....will update more l8r.....peace yall

Yep, on 1999 he went into the "mommy, why does everybody have bomb" bit. amazing. Loved If i was your GF, like the way hes milking this track in a good way "Side to side y'all"

I can not even begin to describe to you guys what happened at the aftershow. I am freaking out here. Ill try to be calm but part of me thinks that can't have just happened and I'm dreaming the most incredible dream.

So Beverley Knight and her band came out at the aftershow and played for an hour or so. She killed it. Then out comes Prince and his band. They jammed for damn near and hour and a half with funk and rock classics and I swear to God, Prince was possessed with the spirit of Hendrix with his guitar playing. I'm a Jimi fan and incredulous as this may sound - Prince tonight did things I've never even see Jimi do. His hands moved on that guitar like a demonic guitar devil. This aftershow will go down in history, I guarantee it. After Cora's solo I'd swear she is the reincarnation of John Bonham. Even her husband Josh was impressed! And imagine how many thousands of gigs and rehearsals and jams they must have played together!

Anyway....Ill tease yall a little.....did Prince really play "Girls and Boys" with the whole crowd singing along and doing the crossy wavy hand move thing? Did he really jam on "Head" with Maceo and the NPG Hornz? Did he really play a sick ass full version of "Partyman" and "3121", too? Oh man.....and to top it off, after he went off, I headed towards the back bar to find a friend. I stopped outside a door to fix my hoody which I had tied around my waist to pull out my Sidekick.....when out comes Prince with 2 security guards. There's literally no-one standing in this immidiate vicinity but me, and I can't believe it. You think I'm gonna miss this opportunity to talk to him? Hell nah! He's hardly sticking around so I simply smile and say "Hey, thanks Prince" to express my respects towards him giving us such an amazing aftershow. He turns and smiles at me, nods and says "cool."

Glad I got to do that, since those kind of situations don't happen often. At the first aftershow I was at, on the 4th there was a massive mob waiting for him before he could even come out of the door. This time was pure chance since I went to find my friend as I knew he wasn't gonna come back on stage (had already left once and returned for a full encore). Since everyone was still in front of the stage, I guess the security wanted to get him outta there before the screaming mob saw him. And I just happened to be in the right place, right time. So yeah I'm buzzin about that!!!!

Right now I'm on the boat that leaves from the O2 and goes to....well I'm not sure where. But, in the queue to the boat I see two guys with Housequake T Shirts. I was pretty sure I knew who one of them was gonna be, but I didn't want to look like a tit so just to be sure I asked, and sure enough it was Mr Housequake himself, TurnItUp. Had a good chat with him for 10 minutes or so which was cool as I wasn't fully up to speed with all the issues that have been going on regarding HQ and the London concerts etc. So he broke down some of the things that were going on which I appreciated! He has said that there are upcoming talks that will hopefully lead to some sort of resolution, which would obviously be great! I hope that happens.

Anyhoo I'm sure others are writing about this right now, assuming I'm the first to talk about what just went down!

Oh and to make a truly incredible night even better, my American wife just got her visa approved and should be able to be here in a month.

Peaceyall...I'm off to find cigarettes and pizza.
