21st September Set List

Seeing as we all seem to be going on the final day on the 21st i thought i would be helpful and write the set list for Prince with thought given to set structure (top opener/close - funkier mid section and slower ones together etc)

So here is my ultimate prince set list

1. Purple Rain
2. Guitar
3. Kiss
4. Alphabet Street
5. Sign of the Times
6. Musicology
7. Controversy
8. I feel 4 You
9. Get Off
10. Wanna Be Your Lover
11. U got The look
12. Planet Earth
13. Nothing Compares to You
14. THBGITW
15. Diamonds and Pearls
16. Beautiful Ones
17. When Doves Cry
18. Little Red Corvette
19. Raspberry Beret
20. Sometimes It Snows In April
21. Lets Go Crazy
22. 1999
23. Gold

22 tracks perfect length of 2,5 hours (make sure you are there 8.30 sharp!!)

Anyone got thoughts/alterations etc etc

I think he should close the final night with Purple Rain. Also, can't see much point in playing Sexy MF with no swearing allowed!
RIP sad

Agreed! Purple Rain should definitely be the closer and under no circumstances the opening song. Anywhere in between would be OK but my personal preference would be that it's the last song I hear him do - until next time whenever that may be.

I'd take out sexymf and replace it with Housequake

I Love the fact he is opening some of these gigs with Purple Rain. It smacks of supreme confidence for a performer to not save their best till last and really kicks off the concert... thought saturdays opening half hour was exceptional.

Plus I really like Gold and think thats got to be up there as one of the best closing tracks.

Ive also just realised I forgot 1999 - how did i do that !!

Think Sexy MF may have to go to make way for 1999 which ill put in as the penultimate track

I'm actually quite partial to the covers he's been playing...Play That Funky Music was awesome....and Chic - Le Freak over the top of Sexy Dancer was superb!!

He can drop Crazy though...not really a fan of it.

Come together on the opening night was really cool too.

Agree with The "Play That Funky Music" cover although surprised its getting included so often.
