Myself and darryl ...just got back to home (rammy) and feel rough wink ...we were seated just behind renato about 5 rows back and couldn't really beat the position..I have sore hands from too much clapping/seat drumming and can hardly speak from too much shouting...I apogise to anyone who was near me.

Where does it state that on the tickets? From reading another thread, at least this time they were told that he wouldnt show, but although is a balls, it eliminates all the waiting and hoping and at least you have the choice to attend the show and enjoy it, or head home. I thought I read people were being offered a refund or the availability to swap their aftershow tix for another date

No live music at all, a real disapointment.
A crummy DJ playing a weird mixture of tunes with the odd Prince one thrown in.

Thank goodness the concert was so good
oh mama I wish I could resist ...

No... we knew the risk of a no show in advance..it was made clear to us when we bought them; at about midnight we were told he// or anyone else definitely wasn't showing up...so I can't complain too much.
Like most people we were desperate to see a fabled aftershow and I am just jealous of all those who saw Beverly Knight and the best backing she has ever had on Friday.
We payed £25...not too bad. But some tickets were £75 to watch a DJ try to keep a crowd going after watching two hours of Prince. I felt sorry for him.

I was at the show last night, really enjoyed the main show, first time I've seen him on this tour and I was really surprised he didn't seem to be moving/dancing that much now, I think this is maybe the show he's got to do now, rather than the one he really wants to do .... I think all the teasing of the fans is part of the entertaininment, coz he can't do all the dance moves etc that were integral to his previous tours.... I enjoyed anyways, I just think Prince has aged with his fans, and we've all changed, was great to see him again !!!

As for the aftershow, I am abit annoyed, I bought 2 aftershow tickets as soon as they came out from TM at £55, the pre publicity pretty much said/gave the impression it would be a party/show with some live entertainment, such as his backing band or a guest performer etc, and if ya really lucky, maybe Prince ! I could attend 1 gig and after show, so I went VIP (fell really look with good seats/view in E1, a few seats to my right and I could have been stuck behind keyboards/drums etc I was stood so I could see Prince clearly in profile when he was at the centre stage Mic and he came around ourside quite abit, I just feel sorry for the other VIP buyers who were in restricted view seats, I saw lots with the voucher bands on... ).

After the show we queued up for 60 mins outside the Indigo, then the security started coming down the line telling people 'Prince or the band will not appearing/playing tonight' they advised people to goto the booking office for an exchange for another night, I couldn't do that as I was in London for 1 night, they said no refunds were being given, just exchanges, the booking office 'scrum' was about 30 people wide and 20 people deep by then, half the line basically didn't wanna go in. This was Midnight, I was staying in a hotel in the west end, so I knew a taxi at like 4am was gonna cost allot and be a nightmare to get outthere, I didn't mind taking chances if there would have been some sort of show in there, with it just being a bog standard club me and my friend decided we'd have to go back to the hotel, so we got the tube back at 00:30 and saved about £50 in taxi fares, hit the hotel bar !!! only thing I can say is at least they told us and gave the choice to people....

Had a great night overall, had fun chatting with people in the VIP, couldn't believe how many people were there for their first Prince gig ever, and they went VIP ???? I thought it would be the hardcore fans in there going for the best seats !!! I was in E1 row C and people were asking me what songs names were as they liked them when he played controversy/sometimes it snows in April etc !!!!

So, gonna make a call to Ticketmaster tommorrow and see what they'll do when the Indigo themselves tell people queuing that there is no entertainment as promised, sounds like a breach of contract to me ....

We just got back too! The main concert was absolutely AMAZING! I loved every minute of it and the crowd were fantastic, almost deafening at times (I certain'ly made myself heard, I know that much and my lack of voice today pays testiment to that!) It seemed to me that Prince thoroughly enjoyed himself, grinning from ear-to-ear and I allowed myself to think that maybe he's enjoyed himself that much that he might feel like tearing it up at Indigo2... WRONG!!!

From where we were seated we saw P.Diddy come into the super-VIP area with a small entourage, Prince spotted them early into the set, maybe he knew he was gonna be there. I have to say that I even dared to hope that he might make an appearance with Prince in the Indigo2... OH SO WRONG AGAIN!!!

I know - I'm TOTALLY nieve, I understand that and I've been on here long enough to see all the posts lamenting the no-shows but I really hoped and prayed that he'd be there.

Rumour got out pretty quickly that there was absolutely no way that either Prince or his band would be playing - I got a very strong feeling that they hooked up and gone elsewhere. pissed

I just need to make one point before I go on - when I originally bought tickets to one of the aftershows there was ABSOLUTELY NO disclaimer on either the ticketmaster site or 3121 site that Prince might not be playing, so I bought the tickets in good (if rather nieve) faith. That said, we all saw the notice on the 3121 site that appeared the other day, so I decided to buy tickets for last night's aftershow from a fellow Orger (Hiya MellowOne!) 'safe' in the knowlege that there was a pretty good chance that he might show.

As I said Prince played an absolutely fuckin' awesome concert and definately left the crowd begging for more - everyone was convinced that he was going to come out for one last encore as it was only 10.40pm. We met up with a couple of orgers then DH and I went for a drink, then found out that not only was Prince not going to be playing but his band weren't either. 'Shit', thought I, 'OK, now what?'... I'll tell you what - chaos! Stewards were telling people that they could get a refund or exchange their tickets if they went to the box office. 'OK where's the box office? Oh, you mean that one tiny window, with 2000 people all trying to get to it?' What a fuckin' fiasco! Now, my beef isn't that Prince wasn't playing, I was also pretty pleased that we could exchange our tickets (Hmmm... no refunds I noticed!) my problem was the sheer disorganisation, no real queue, only one window open - it was absolutely ridiculous! The o2 knew that there was a chance that he wouldn't play but had no contingency plan and no idea of the logistics involved in dealing with 2,000 (although I have to admit that I honestly thought there were a lot more than 2,000) customers. We waited for over 2 hours in that bloody queue and there looked to be another half an hour's worth of people waiting to be seen! We, and the people around us went from being a bit disappointed, through miffed and all the way to really, really pissed off, because of the loooong wait and disorganisation. It really did put a downer on an otherwise amazing night, but we tried to make the best of it and ended up having some really good conversations with some of the fellow Prince fans that we were squashed up against.

I can honestly say that if there'd have been another live act on I would have happily gone in - but I'm sorry, there's no way I was paying 55 quid to go sit in some over priced bar with some drunken tarts (oh yes, I saw quite a few of those!)

I have my fingers crossed that he'll be playing at the aftershow on the 31st... Let us pray! pray beg
I'm not stopping. I haven't even taken my coat off

C'mon and dance while you, while you still have your cherry babe, cherry babe..

Where on the main Arena tickets did it say he would play?

Ah I'm disappointed for you all that you paid and he didn't appear, but there was no guarantee and it said that on the booking site. But I guess, u can take the chance and we nearly did...
We can only guess as to reasons he might not appear, maybe the reception he got wasn't as good as he wanted? Although we were really up for it, we didn't chant his name when he went off, maybe he wanted a little more from us. Or maybe he was just tired!

Like every1 I stood in line for about an hour when the rumour started to spread that he wasn't goin to show> Initially I took it with a pinch of salt and stayed until it became official. I was disapointed for a while but because the main concert had been so good it soon passed. I opted to get my tickets exchanged for the 18th Aug. As there are no shows until the 24th after then, perhaps he'll make an appearance at the aftershow. BUT THERE IS NO GUARANTEE.
Last nite was the 4th during this tour. Have seen him 13 times since '86 have several more to see. This is the end of my 1st post on Prince.org so be nice !!!

I had pretty sound information once in the queue for the aftershow that he wouldn't turn up, but I went anyway as it was my last show on this tour and I'd not travelled all the way from Glasgow not to have a good time!

I had a blast, even though the DJ didn't have a clue for the first hour or so, and then started playing things that were recognisable. The only Prince input was 'Kiss', 'Chelsea Rodgers' and the last song 'Guitar', though the place wasn't exactly busy by then.

Surely it would make sense to play Prince songs for at least the majority of the time - the best way to make up for his non-appearance; the energy levels in the crowd would have been very high, people would have stayed and spent money at the bar! But what do I know??

Regardless, I had a good time with my Org friends (you know who you are) and danced quite a bit. Without my friends at the aftershow I probably wouldn't have stuck it out.
Thanks to everyone and also the two lasses from Glasgow who bought me a drink (thought it was meant to be the other way around but I wasn't complaining..lol).

Saturdays NO SHOW at the after show: I heard a little whisper that P may of nipped across town to join up with Iassic Hayes (spelling?) - Chef from southpark...as it were. I know a friend was seeing him perform and the rumour then was that the two of them were going to hook up....

the above is probably complete cobblers...but could and i stress the word "could" explain the no show?!

You are obviously not the full packet.

And for the aftershows, there was a press release ("your chance to jam with Prince") and a ticket with his name on it, being sold in the concert section of ticketmaster.

He asked 'who we got in tonight?' and shaded his eyes from the lights, then pointed and grinned at him, Diddy pointed and grinned back.

I think Prince would have a lot in common with P Diddy - OK he's not a 'musician' in that he plays no instruments but he's a very talented producer and he demands nothing less than perfection from the people in his camp (sound like anyone to you?) I actually rather like Diddy... shrug
