if u wanna stand up on the 17th just do it Yeah some chick behind me last Saturday tapped me on the shoulder when I stood up on the first song (Purple Rain, no less!) Luckily by the time he launched into Cream, the two extremely drunk chicks next to me had stood up, so I did too |

So did everybody in my block - except a miserable woman IN FRONT of me who sat down the whole time taking pictures with her camera and I kept on hitting her on the head with my waving arms. I said sorry but from the look on her face she wasn't too happy.....

Some people buy seats for a reason - and if they continue to sit while everyone else stands, maybe there's something other than being 'miserable' that is causing them to remain where they are.

Please dont assume that because some people remain in their seats, that they are miserable. I have arthritis and I may need to sit most of the time when we go,I will have a dance when i'm able(and no doubt will pay for it the next day),but DONT call us miserable without knowing all the facts please

This happened to me back on the Nude tour, I was lucky to have front row seats, and when Prince came up on stage every body stood and screamed and jumped I get a prod in the back from some girls asking me to sit down as they couldnt see, then they started calling me names before I could even anwser, so sod them I stood for the entire show!!!
so if someone in front of you is tall please be polite and ask them to move either side as you are a bit smaller or ask the to swop seats or even telephone numbers in case you fancy them or if you going to the after show party some one to talk to about what a brillant concert you just seen!!!

U don't have 2 sit.
The choice is yours. Despite having some of the poorest seats in the house, I didn't stop dancing all night. How often do U get 2 hear P live? & freak! In fact I was freakin' so much, that every1 near us had no choice but 2 join in. U can choose 2 follow or lead!

This woman was miserable, not because she sat in her seat all night - that is her perogative for whatever reasons she had - she was miserable because she gave me dirty looks every time I accidentally hit her on the head (for which I apologised each and every time).

I'd really prefer to sit. It's not that I'm a miserable kill-joy, but when you decide to stand up you are making the decision for every person behind you too. Seems rather inconsiderate to me.
Like Claire73, health reasons prevent me from standing throughout the whole show... but I'm under no illusions, I know Prince fans can be a bunch of selfish, excitable fools at the best of times and that quite probably everyone nearby will stand up. Honestly, I'd happily pay extra for a "seated ONLY" seats, an area of the arena where you aren't allowed to stand.

The majority of people will indeed want to stand and jump up and down, dance and wave their arms but there will be some people who might not want to or simply can't. All you need is one person in front of you who wishes to stand and you've had it. Going back to the "miserable" woman in front of me, she really was. I reckon she didn't want to be there. She certainly looked as though she'd rather have been somewhere else. There's one thing sitting down because you're incapacitated in some way but she just sat - never moved, never clapped, never opened her mouth once. Just sat there. She truly was miserable!

I hate it when you go to a concert and you only have the option to buy seated tickets. It would worry me that I might end up in front of someone that can't stand and can't swap.
Luckily all the others I've been to have sold standing tickets too.

If memory serves me correctly, I'm sure they had a block reserved 4 this at Wembley. MayB should let O2 know 4 future shows (any artist).

It's a shame for those that can't stand, but it does actually say in the small print on the back of the ticket that people in seated areas may stand. I've been to two shows so far and everyone around me stood up, so that was ok.
Going to one in September with my mum and not sure how she'll cope as she's registered disabled. She swears blind she'll be ok though. RIP

I'll be there on friday 17th and I'll be dancing and making alot of noise for the whole event! I am so excited! I agree if I am in the way of someone behind, I will stand to one side, but Im sorry if I want to dance to Prince live, I believe its my choice. Ive only been to one seated Prince concert before, back in 2002 and although we sat for a few slows songs, when he told us to sit back and "let me sing to you"! other than that, we just couldnt stay seated!!!
I am so excited!!! Any news on who is supporting him that night (if anyone)?
