If you had the power how would you improve the 02 shows? I went to last nights show and last Saturdays and enjoyed both but I did think they could be improved if they:
Stop playing that Cirque Du Soleil type bass rumbling and bird's twittering noise when Prince leaves the stage. It leaves the crowd confused wondering has the show ended? Shall we clap for more or wait for the noises to stop and then clap and cheer for an encore? It kind of kills the atmosphere for me. Also don't play cover versions when most of the peole there want to hear Prince songs. Play that Funky Music, Le Freak and Wonderful World? I would prefer to hear Prince songs instead. Later on last night he played samples of his back catalogue on a keyboard. If he had actually played any of these songs properly it would have been superb. Both the above seem a bit Vegasy to me but I suppose that is the show we are getting and should be grateful.

I agree on the whole with what you're saying but loved it when he did Play That Funky Music on Friday night. It was brilliant.

I woudn't change much except relocate all the people seated bhind the stage so they could see and fix the sound.

Gazza That's a very nice thought Gazza. I didn't have a problem with the sound though from where I was on Friday night (Block 102, Row S). Except when Beverly Knight was on. The bass guitar was so loud my bag on my lap vibrated.

The sound quality is so different in different parts of the venue, But I am not sure how easy that is to fix.
On the floor in F1, you could not hear the horns or keyboards but the voice was very clear. The 4th tier it is too quiet and voice is too low in the mix and the relay speakers are not perfectly timed. Block 115 and Block 102, the sound was perfect. The quality of the sound really influences how good i thought the shows were. I think guitar and keyboard solos every night would be great as it really showcases his talents. Grant

I am surprised that the sound is a good as it is being such a massive space.
Last week I sat in Block 115 at the rear of the venue and it was Ok I thought. Last night I sat in Row Z Block 106 bang next door to the sound-desk, as you could imagine the sound was superb! In fact I could have leaned over and turned the drums up and down when the sound man was not looking if I had been so inclined.

sound in new venues takes months to sort out - Prince is playing in the first three months of this new arena being opened.
Downer but will take time to sort for perfection. Face it, wembley still hasn't got it right and that's after years and years. PASS THE PEAS PASS THE PEAS

Why oh why is Chelsea Rodgers not being performed, 3121 said he even rehersed it in Wembley Arena in the pre O2 warm up on the 27th. http://www.goldiesparade.co.uk/ - Prince discography, tour history, news and more.

Get rid of the intro music, it's shite and does nothing to create an atmosphere.
And no more bloody covers or karaoke.

Drop Down by the riverside Wonderful world Crazy Play that funky music Le Freak Lolita Black Sweat Add When Doves Cry Sign Of the Times 1999 The Most beautiful girl in the world Planet Earth Guitar Chelsea Rodgers Co-sign most of this apart from: 1) I like Prince performing in the round, the stage is cool and it means MORE people are closer (all the side lower tiers and those facing the arrow). It is poor for the people behind the stage so I would have sold these tickets as "restricted view" for cheaper, then people couldn't complain (could they?) 2) I wouldn't get him to play When Doves Cry as (for me) it NEVER sounds right played live. It just doesn't work (in fact Kiss often sounds rubbish live as well). 3) Add Endorphinemachine, Let's Work, The Cross, We Can Funk, Peach/Chaos & Disorder 4) Completely lose the fake audience members on stage. It's been sussed and it doesn't work. Get them outta there and focus on Prince! 5) I would have sorted out the ticketing fiasco by making sure the good seats were sold as advertised and the issue with the Aftershows clarified up front allowing people to make a decision on whether to take the gamble! 6) Finally I would have maintained the amazing NPGMC experience we had in 2002 with proper priority/best seats available to members (and soundchecks and aftershows) [Edited 8/13/07 3:10am] 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.
