I have to say that pre-concert starting I was here many times every day and now I visit much much much less as I can't take all the moaning either.

I was there for the first night, sat more behind the stage than in front of the stage and missed the encore and he only played his guitar and didn't sing at the aftershow BUT I have enjoyed every little piece and will remember it always.

Cmon guys look for the positives as there are hundreds of them!

Yes it's not as intimate or value for money as ONA (I enjoyed that tour too) BUT it's a new phase in Princes career and that's GREAT.

Yes ticketmaster and AEG are w*nkers BUT you got to see him right? He's still funky as hell and puts on a great show!

Don't bring everyone else down guys there are still many many people to go to the show yet and the rest of us just want to enjoy our memories of such a cool and funky night!

Exactly! I could have watched him do that for the whole show. It was brilliant.

a whole show? errr he was pressing buttons. really wouldn't you rather he actually played those songs especially when he is already sat at the keyboard? personally it's giving me the impression that he's bored.

This type of agressive rubbish is something we would expect from some sad fool who puts " sarkozy" in his pseudo. Please, take out your problems on some other forum and leave us alone.

Oh, you've got a problem with Sarkozy, poor little boy. Get used to him. He's gonna be around for a while. I'm telling ya !

And sorry if I'm nowhere near as negative as many winghers who complain nearly about evertyhing related to Prince evry single day.

Sorry as well, if you have not noticed that never, ever at Prince concerts, there had been such drunken prats who don't give a shit about Prince and who know shit about music.

Maceo plays some great sax solo and they'out to get the liters of lager out of their system. So you call me sad fool. The only sad fools I see are these drunken whiny winghers who fill the arena every night.

Yep, a whole show. I thought it was great and judging by the reaction of the people around me, so did they. Of course I'd love to hear those songs as full versions, but I actually like how he teases the crowd.

ok, each to their own I guess....but these were just recordings! Though I could envisage a show in a small club, few hundred people. and Prince there playing his CDs and talking and teasing...maybe in that context it would be pretty pretty interesting.

If i went to see the Foo Fighters and they played a 30 second tease of the 'Best of you' i'd be mightily pissed. ALL P fans have a perfect right to be upset, i love the hits as much as the obscure jazzier stuff, just wish he'd get focussed.

Yeah but what kind of music catalog do the foo fighters have? they don't have enough songs or hits to play 30 second versions of anything. (lol)

An arena show isn't about musical excellence, its about entertainment for the masses.

And its not pathetic for a casual fan at a Prince concert to expect Prince to perform the songs.

WTF are you saying "Prince concert to expect Prince to perform the songs"

Does Prince not come on the stage at all. All of you sound like a bunch of complaining bitches. I am starting to wonder if this is a generation problem or a brit problem.

P did a 6 month tour of the states in 2004 and don't remember this type of bullshit from the media or fans. You don't deserve him.

Who cares what the masses want? They paid their money already, and Prince can play whatever he wants. I love when he sends them home drunk, complaining and unhappy. smile Those people have the intelligence of a sewer rat.

What can't you grasp? That people shouldn't expect Prince to play his big songs when he advertised the shows as "playing the hits for the last time".

Silly me. We don't deserve him Only you are worthy!

I thought the boos were a bit much, but he was having fun and it was great to hear the crowd response, perhaps he was testing to see which hit he should perform next?

Because he needs to be reassured that When Doves Cry would go down well?!?!?

The boos were like panto though - they weren't serious. It was like a big muck around between the audience and Prince. As for the rest of the show, he was very playful and from the block I was in (111) he had a lot of interaction with the crowd.

Some were some weren't. I heard at least one guy behind me say "why can't he just play the fucking song".

I've been surprised by some of the reaction to this thread. Of course some people may have liked the recorded samples and teasing. that's absolutely cool.

But suggestions that

- we don't deserve to have prince in London...
- we're all just drunken whingers...
- the US never complained...

Well, sorry for the "non-american" activities but these reactions are a bit creepy.

At the end of the day, Prince is doing 21 nights in one place. He's setting himself up for repeat viewing as many fans can go a number of times. This inevitably leads to far more analysis of the show.

He likes to show off, he likes to play, sing a line, walk off, listen to the crowd pleading, walk back again only to repate the cycle a few times till it wares off on hte crowd. He really has got to put When Doves Cry on, I nearly came in my pant when I heard that.

Just don't understand why he doesn't play that song properly - I think it was '86 when I last heard it. I'm coming tomorrow Prince - please!!!!!

totally agree there is really too much machismo goin on in here of late alot of really foul language and hatred.

has everyone forgotten the love oneanother ethos of npgmc?

im not surprised theres no forums on 3121 they probably cant stand the job of mods any longer and hearin all the complaints and negativity.

havin said that - i think the drink problem at the o2 is the promoters fault allowin it and in fact encorouging it. most venues are goin this way just to rip more money off people but it ruins the feel of a concert to see people walkin in and out as ive posted elsewhere it just plain rude to the performer.

the uk is goin to the dogs! where have all the manners gone? you dont get up to buy drinks in the theatre!!

sorry sorry scuse me oops was that your toe sorry!!! lol lol

you guys all need to chill and enjoy the music

some of the posts i have read today have been terrible and argumentative - not good reading.

constructive criticism is one thing but swearin and cussing is not needed!

How pathetic !

When Prince was more underground, most people at his concerts were the Miles Davis, JB, Sly, Stevie, Zappa, Hendrix, Santana, Funkadelic lovers.
I mean real music lovers who recognize good music whoever plays it.
These prats are lucky enough to listen to a legend like Maceo playing and they still go get a pint of fucking lager. I swear to God I have never seen such a poor attendance in my life and I have attended more than 500 gigs since the age of 14.

At Montreux, Cora was playing a fantastic drum solo only with her hands and you had these fat tourists shouting insults out loud. How sad and frustrating ! She was shocked.

Prince could play the best guitar solo ever at one of his 02 gigs, most of these people would not even notice.

I was kind of leaning towards your side of the argument, until the underlined statement above.

You have now proven yourself to be a dick.

Stop talking now.

I thankyou.

I thought the show was fantastic - I loved every second of it, including the strange piano bit in the middle and I thought Maceo was amazing and was glad to listen to him (can that man breath through his ears or something?!)

I was very disappointed to see so many disrespectful people walking about - what's the point in spending all that money to go see Prince then piss about getting beers? I'm willing to bet that these people don't do that when they pay £7 when they go to the cinema - why do it at a privileged gig like a Prince concert? I was desperate for the loo but I held on coz I didn't want to miss a second.
I'm not stopping. I haven't even taken my coat off

C'mon and dance while you, while you still have your cherry babe, cherry babe..

I'm afraid it's a Brit Generation problem. As the years pass, the world owes Brit teens to 20-somethings more and more.

The place is becoming a proper shit-hole, but this is really a subject for another thread....so I'll leave it at that.

Prince ain't used to a hostile Brit-generation, that's for sure!
Why would people pay to boo?
Wonder if this could be his last UK tour for a LONG while, ppl can be hostile man.
