F2 "VIP" Tickets - Should I/Can I Swap? Hi Guys,
Just got my VIP tickets for Saturday and my first reaction was oh no when I saw I was in F2 Row C. Has anyone here been in F2 - could you share your experiences. Has anyone managed to swap their tickets - I notice VIP tickets are still on sale for Saturday - so my guess is that come Friday/Saturday blocks C1, C2 etc will be on sale. Feel so stupid now for paying for these!

I had block F3 row A tickets for the 17th which i got using the fan code and paid face value. After the 1st show it was obvious that the view from there would be pants.
I contacted tickmaster and complained that due to the height of the stage the view would be restricted and this should have been indicated on the website. I was eventually called back and offered a full refund or alternative tickets. I opted for block 111 row L. If i was you i would dump those tickets fas, get a full refund and then buy again at face value - they are definately not worth the money whatever happens - have a great night

I spoke to Ticketmaster about this and they basically said tough shit.

Hi
I just spoke to Ticketmaster. The first customer services person I spoke with said she would speak to her supervisor. The supervisor "Tom" then came on the phone and said that the F block were NOT retricted view. I argued that they were. He said that the promoter (AEG) had not informed them that they were restricted view and so they sold them in good faith. I asked him to speak to AEG directly about this and he said he'd call me back. Will keep you all informed.....

I am only 5ft tall so it looks as though I might have a problem seeing anything. These were sold for fan club members in F1 - seems a funny choice of seats!!!

I don't think it's a matter of how tall you are really - my brother checked out the F1 seats for me when he went on Tuesday night and he said that right in front of the front row is a 7 foot high stage and above that is the band. The only time you will get to see Prince is when he bothers to go round the "back" there. On Tuesday's concert he went round there three times. Ticketmaster haven't called me back and guess what, I don't think they will. Will let you know though!

We have been fretting over these tickets for weeks now. Only JUST got them and we have block F2 row D. SOOOO disappointed. To pay all that money to not see him is such a waste. We are going to call ticketmaster - will keep you all informed.

I rang them last night and they didn't return my call so I rang them again at 1 p.m today. because I had a query about my VIP tickets. They were very helpful, said they would ring me back and did about 30 mins later. Might be worth another try - good luck it's in my interest as well as yours because if you have any success, I'll certainly try.

I got my VIP tickets yesterday they are for A3, I was disappointed with them but I don't think they are too bad. Think we are all wondering now why we paid so much money for VIP tickets - I paid 31.21 per ticket on the opening night for my friend and myself on block 106 row BB and we had a fabulous view because Prince was there most of the time - doesn't really make any sense does it.

I think they may have realised that we R talking 2 each other & offering each other helpful advice, hence the standard response from CS, & no more exchange/refund.
U KNOW the show isn't sold out. Most of the agents will B returning unsold tickets. Seems 2 B the case so far. A lot of ppl have bought better tckts on the actual day of the concert. Will B interesting 2 C how O2 handle this. U may want 2 send this complaint/query 2 Watchdog. This'll B another complaint 2 add 2 what is turning in2 a "bleed-the-fans-'til-they're-broke" saga. I got Block F2 VIP. I don't drink, & doubt there will B any vegan fare on offer. Didn't bother me at the time when I spent £474 on tckts. Like evry1 I was hoping 4 a good view! However, reading so many posts about how dissappointed evry1 is I'm a little worried that we won't get 2 C a thing Still may try my luck 2morrow buying 31.21 tckts. dan6s7s said: Just phoned ticketmaster and like domebaby69 the supervisor i spoke to is going to email the events company to inform them of my complaint. I have for a september concert F1 row A seat 1 and 2. I don't think these are that bad? Are they? Need to know, otherwise I will buy new tickets when available.
Those seem the best of the F-section (the first chairs of these blocks, so not really behind the stage). Anybody here who had these seats? Does anyone had a photo of the seatings at the O of the ? Is this picture correct? [Edited 8/10/07 12:12pm] -- I don't know, I am just a cat.... Purr... --

Just got my VIP tickets, Block E1 row C, seats 17&18, I'm gutted, can only attend 1 night of the tour due to work/family/travel, I bought VIP to make sure I got the best tickets on the night when they went on sale, searches were not returning any tickets at £31.21 the day they went on sale at 09:00.
Phoned ticketmaster and been passed pillor to post, first TM customer service rep i spoke to gave me a number for the O2 '0208 463 2000' as TM had nothing to do with VIP allocation according to him, I stated I paid TM nearly £500 for this package, so they should accept responsibility to manager it, no joy. So i rung the O2, they claimed they had nothing to do with it and could not act as I purchased from TM, so they advised me to contact TM again ! I rang TM and got a supervisor to call me back, he said he was told to quote the O2 number, I said the number is rubbish and O2 cannot do anything, he then went to ring that number, which he did, then returned my call saying the O2 number is too report a complaint, I pointed out I wanted a full refund or exchange for better seats as the ad stated 'Gold Seats - best seats in the house', with these being at the back of stage restricted by drumkit, they are certainly not the best seats ! The supervisor then contacted AEG who said they had completed their obligation, I had 2 tickets in gold area, they stated these were the best tickets and until I had used these tickets I could not complain 'as the drumkit may not be in the same place the night I attend', I explained I did not want to complain afterwards, this was my 1 chance to see him on this tour, so I would rather see it, than complain afterwards ! So I've got no choice, they will not exchange or refund, I now intend to get to the VIP area as soon as it opens at 18:00, I will then go check my seat as I don't drink anyway so not interested in the party, then I will pick it up with the O2 staff and see if I can get exchanged on the night, long shot but worth a go, anyone tried this, any success ? This trip is costing over £1000 with 2 VIP tickets, flights and hotel stay/transport, we really have been exploited with these VIP scams, I do not understand why the VIP tickets were not held back at the start, so they are the best seats, thats why people paid the premium and what TM advertised.. I am going to take pictures of my seat/view, then take TM to small claims court to get my money back, these were sold as the best seats in the house, they blatantly are not, so their AD (which I have a copy of) is a breach of contract. I hope Prince comes to my side of the stage just once, from row C i'm hoping to push over the drumkit and crush the little sh*t !!!!

I called TM customer services, i got the number off this board began with 0161. I too was initially told No refunds but i stuck to my guns and said they should have stated the view would be restricted at the time of booking. How can anyone believe the view is not going to be restricted when the stage is over 6 foot! TM said that AEG had not informed them of the stage height hence the reason why no disclaimer was made on the website. Good luck and enjoy the shows.....it will be all over in 4 weeks

I have just returned from tonight's concert and I originally had tickets for Row A block F1. I changed them and so glad I did. F2 is even worse. Prince did go round to the back of the stage 7 or 8 times which is more than he has in other concerts so word must have got to him that blocks behind the O and even some rows in the lower tier won't be able to see him. If I had F2 tickets I would most definitely swap. Stick to your guns. Do not accept these seats. THEY ARE RESTRICTED VIEW. Without a doubt. Good luck and enjoy the shows.....it will be all over in 4 weeks

This tour has caused so much upset to people. I am a very big Prince fan and have been for more than 25 years. The problem is, the 02 is new and if they don't sort things out now, it could cause very bad publicity for other shows there. Perhaps someone should find a way to complain to someone higher, myself I don't know who, and let all the disgruntled fans have their say. I am going to four other shows - not all VIP - just love watching Prince perform - all this mither is so sad especially for true fans. I have just returned from tonight's concert and I originally had tickets for Row A block F1. I changed them and so glad I did. F2 is even worse. We tried to look for another seats, but security was so tight we couldn't move. We were advised to go to the Customer Services, which we did, but they were not very helpful, after explaining the situation, paid amost £500 for 2 tickets, and not be able to see anything... asked permission to occupy few empty seats on the same VIP area, we were told that it was not possible.. and the lady said: " Just enjoy the music!!"... How infuriating...The experience can only be described as a complete nightmare! I think we should all complain to TM ( by writing), because by phone you we'll be only speaking to an operator. The more complaints the better I suppose. Now, I have 2 tickets for Block 111 Row E. Do you think these are good seats? Anyway I've paid 31.21 so feel better now. I'll be definetly complaining to TM, and urge you all to do the same. Thanks.

I was on the opposite site of the symbol last night in block 102 row S and I could see everything perfectly. You will be even closer to the stage on the other side. Trust me - they are excellent seats. Hang on to those tickets! Sorry to hear of your experience with the F blocks. And to think that they sold those as VIP seats and also (as in my experience) to Prince fanclub members. Disgusting. Without a doubt the worst seats in the house.

Hi, thanks for the reassurance.I still can't believe that I've paid all that money only to spend most of the concert like a headless chicken trying to find a better view, and followed by securities...
We do have to do something. I'll be writing a long letter of complaint, since the disastrous and late delivery of tickets, bad experience at the so called " VIP" bar,and horrendous seats..

Trust me - the tickets you have now will make up for all of the bad experiences you've had with the F block/VIP experience so far. I would suggest though that you take the matter up with AEG, not Ticketmaster. AEG's details are: AEG Europe UK Head Office, 25 Canada Square, Canary Wharf, London, E14 5LQ, Tel: 020 7536 2603. Ticketmaster only sell tickets. It is AEG who are responsible for the VIP and seating fiasco, not Ticketmaster. Although I agree that Ticketmaster could have been and should have been more sympathetic and their customer service is non-existent, in all fairness, it isn't their fault. Now, you WILL LOVE the tickets you have now. You WILL SEE ALL of the show. Worry no more. You have great seats. Enjoy the show.
