We can all get our money back, he said, or trade in aftershow tickets for another nights aftershow. Pointless to me since I already am going to tuesdays aftershow and after that probably not going 2 any more gigs. Anyway....I had an awesome time at last weeks aftershow regardless of P bein there for 10 minutes so fuck it, I'm gonna go anyway. Also bearing in mind he himself said he wouldn't be there last nite and he was....but I won't be upset if he's not. People that care so much about their money have been offered refunds, so they shud be happy. I am going to grab some beers at the indigo bar and dance my ass off. Peaceyall Wow that really is a change for the better, I hope they do that as standard from now on. Let people know if there'll be a performance, take a refund if you want it. Awesome! Interested to hear if anyone really did manage to get a refund.

Personally there's no other night I'd go that I'm not already booked in. It was very surprising that there was not even a live act of any sort, and this when Prince turned away Candy because he wouldn't be able to fit her in apparently....

I've been to three of these concerts now and tonight's show was the best - it just flowed really nicely and the keyboard section at the end of the gig was TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!!
Cheers, Rich. | |

So was Prince definitely not at aftershow? we were gonna go, but it seemed a risk for 25!
Was it worth it? ----- The gig was tremendous, no support and he came on around 8.45/9? We were in the second block and had a great view of the stage and two screens. The dancing twins were gorgeous, the brass players, funky and the set list amazing, which was , in no partic order (!): Purple Rain, Girls And Boys, U Got The Look, Cream. U Got The Look. alphabet st, bit of sott, bit of nasty girl, dmsr, wanna b ur lover, diamonds and pearls, the beautiful ones, when doves cry. Pop life sexydancer le freak mash, a love bizarre Do Me Baby part of Erotic City Bits of Little Red Corvette, Raspberry Beret, Sometimes it snows in april The best show I've bin too in a long time and a great atmosphere with everybody in our row grooving along and screaming! Nope it wasnt worth £25 more like the kind of place youd pay £5 to get into.
We went in neverthless, as it was 12.30 by the time we joined the Q as it was huge at 11.30. I was then told by the rather attractive girl on the door that Prince aint playing. We asked how shed knew this and she said that the band (NPG) hasnt set up any equipment and that shed only had this confirmed in the last 5 mins. We could get either go in to a DJ!!(real music by real musicians!!) or join a huge Q to get an exchange, she actually advised us NOT to go in which was very nice of her but we were then in the position of possibly gettting tickets changed to a night were again there was no guarantee of Prince showing and I havent got any more days off work to keep doing this. The lack of public transport at 1am meant thast id be stuck until the tubes reopen at 7am with 6 hours to kill. We went in and it was a good vibe with ppl making the best of a bad situation, i noticed some tacky 3121 branding on the walls and pillars of the club which has been put in since last week. I felt for the geordies and scots who had travelled down. seems like AEG had sent out a message for ppl to be told at around 11pm if P is not showing, hence the Q i saw at 11pm was not ppl buying tickets as id assumed, buoyed on by the great show and p diddy appearing, but ppl exchanging tickets - if this is the case why wasnt it done on last Fridays show and why cant AEG get confirmation on what nights P can def play

I wish the people on the door had bothered to tell me he wouldn't be playing, I turned up at 12.30, no wonder the place looked empty!
I would of gladly swapped my tickets for another night. oh mama I wish I could resist ...

I would of gladly swapped my tickets for another night. I know im gutted for you, i ended up getting turfed out the o2 at 4am and then waited till 7 for the tubes to reopen for sunday. I think that they were acting last minute, in hindsight i didnt even think twice about the huge Q at the box office!! at around 11am - seems some ppl may have unofficially known. wish id been told at 7.30pm when i picked the tix up from the box office.

I believe there was some sax on it, yes. to everyone saying thanks....it really is my pleasure. I know it's something I would appreciate for any P gigs. Unfortunately looks like this Tuesday may be my last one. we'll see.... also i don't know why folks are waiting till 7am(!) for tubes! Both nights I've been, I've stayed till the very end of indigo (around 4am ish) and then gotten a night bus at 4.30 or so, takes about 40 minutes till the end of the route, where I get off the bus and walk less than 100 metres to another bus stop, which takes a further half an hour to the bus station nearest to where I have relatives and it's a 10 minute walk from there. I got back to where I was staying before 6am, both times, and it's quite far north (if you are familiar with london tube maps, The O2 is in Zone 2/3 border to the east, then I get night bus to central london zone 1, then another bus to where I stay which is in Zone 4 to the North) [Edited 8/12/07 20:01pm] |

I was at Saturday's gig and it was amazing. I just wish he'd stop doing little snippets of songs and just do full versions of his hits. If he doesn't want to play those hits, he should just play other tracks from his back catalogue.'I've got too many hits' - well play them then!
Was very surprised he didn't play any songs from his new album. Stuff like Guitar and The One U Wanna C would have gone down better than Black Sweat and Lolita, which in my opinion didn't suit an arena gig. My personal favourites from Sat were Controversy, Purple Rain, Strange Realtionship and Sometimes It Snows In April. I'd have loved to have heard some more album tracks like Joy In Repetition, Shy, Baby Knows, 1+1+1=3, Fury.... It was a great show though, and the audience were going crazy! He is a wonderful showman, and the Twinz were jaw-droppingly hot! How can they dance in those heels? I was loving the guitar solos, proved he is one of the best in the world on the guitar. Also I remember an earlier post saying people were fighting after the gig, well two mouthy female Londoners were at each other's throats on the way out, pathetic. After such an amazing experience, why anyone would be angry, I'll never know.

Hello every on
Well What an amazing show..overall.Started as he did on the 1st with p.rain, then a few more hits, did the very boring pass the peas, however the build up and atmosphere was a real rear gift. In the encore part of the show he teased us with hits, with a sample key board,I found this strange because earlier in the show, he did his latest useual speech about real music, erm PRINCE whats real about samples.. however the crowed played right in2 his hands, he had them booing, cheering, when he said goodbye, they didnt want him to go..this was no useual encore they really didnt want him to go home..after 10mins or so of stomping and shouting by people from age groups from 18 to 68.He came back with his guitar. He teased us some more, did some clasics, sometimes it snows in april, one of my personal favs, take me with u.Then later ends with the disco/funk lets freak,WHY! a cover. When is he going to realise we love Prince for is own music.??I dont know...then a bit of love bizare, with a sexy dancer beat. Then he finaly said goodbye london,I got 21 nights youall..The crowd we not having it,they had to make an anouncement 3 or 4 times for people to leave, every1 was stamping there feet, booing cheering. An electric atmosphere. We had the privalage of being in blk 115 row E,so a pretty good view too, however he did not come over our way much..What was strange is that we were near the entrance of where the band make their way to the stage, all the band make there way, then...mmm a box on wheels is wheeled by bouncers to the underneath of the stage...made us laugh I think Prince was in the box... Also on a different note,I loved Prince in the days of Wendy and Lisa and heard from this site or prince org they were coming on this tour..Where were they??Anyone know??Maybe he is saving it for the last night...And yes I love his new stuff too, although shame he doesent have hits anymore..
