Good on you for inducting the next generation of Prince fans, Claire73!

Took both mine last night (7th Aug) - daughter (11) was already hooked beforehand but once-cynical son (12) has now also joined the ranks of devotees.

Great venue for younger gig goers, and they had no obstruction to their viewing. We left as he played the last encore so as to avoid the tube crush.

Have a beautiful night!
cool

Took my 8 year-old boy on the 4th (thanks to people in the org for the tickets!!) and he LOVED it. He wanted to go last night (but wife and I were in F1 and he would see nothing from there and last night hear very little too as the sound in F1 was horrendous compared to BK 102) and is begging for Friday and Staurday.....looks like i have started something now!!

I brought my 8yr old last night. I don't believe how lucky he was. My first Prince show was in '90 in Cork with 80000 people. I had to watch it from the back. He had plum seats and really enjoyed it. He wanted so much to hear guitar, and his night was made when it came on. The only "minor" dissapoiment was he wanted to hear "7". U can't win em all.

I saw James Browm last October in one of his last ever concerts. My son wanted to come, and I thought he was too young (he begged me to go). Boy do I regret that now, and there were other kids at that. Take my advise, if they like it, bring em....Maybe not George Clinton (awsome, but definately not for the kidz)

BTW hello to the nice American couple who sat behind us. You really get some nice "fams" at the concert. Made my son jealous when I told him about the aftershow (he went back to the hotel with his Mom) which he couldn't see....."I like it There".....too funky...had to listen to the album version over and over on my mp3 player on the eurostar back to Paris.....

I'm taking my son, who's a fan and 14yrs old, on the 31st Aug!

He's been a fan for the longest time... my first knowledge of him being a fan was when he was singing Pussy Control for all to hear on the garden when only 4yrs old... I just had to laugh....hehe

Originally me and my wife were going for the gig and aftershow on the 17th Aug...he was so dissapointed I just had to take him....

Good thing though... I get to go twice....sweet!!

So how old do you think the youngest person you saw at the shows was?

I was considering taking my kids, but I think they're too young yet - 4 & 6. What do you think?

It depends how well behaved your kids are! Most of my friends kids of that age would be moaning and would get bored after half an hour ,then again if you cant get a babysitter I guess you got no choice!
Personally though I'd wanna relax and enjoy myself!

I took my nine yr old to the opening night! She is totally brainwashed & loves Prince!!! She even secretly has a crush thing going on.....smile She loves his shoes, like mother, like daughter!!! Taking her again on the 14th, she is sooo excited Only downside is she wants to buy the entire merchandise stand sad & she constantly reeks of MY 3121 perfume!!

She danced & sang along to at least 95% of the songs, which is more than I can say re the guy next to me as he only knew Purple Rain!! he he

I have a five yr old too, personally I wouldn't take her too as she would spend the entire evening demanding food, toilet trips, drinks & complaining of being bored! I am currently brainwashing her too.....it won't be long now!!

I managed to get C2 tickets Row C (on the floor) for next Fri. I am taking my cousin (life long fan) and her 11 year old daughter.

My only worry is that my niece might be too short so might not get a good view. Can someone confirm this ? I am also only 5ft 5 (165cm) hopefully I will be ok too. As we are on row C hopefully there will be little to obstruct our view.

Thanks

Mace

I'm taking my 10 year old daughter on the 17th - we are in Row A Block 115 (I think) - I'm a little concerned that she wont see much either...But there is a huge screen directly above where the cameras directly send their footage real time.... Fingers crossed it will be an excellent experience for her. She has been a Prince fan since birth - always played Emancipation for her!! And she has had to listen to my news about various gigs including a week long trip to the Celebration a few years ago!!!

Hope you have a great time and that your view is good!

I know I'm on the other side of the "pond" on this one...but my daughter, who is 8 went with me 2 the show in MPLS this year (plum seats) and a Musicology show in 2004. She loves Prince, unlike her schoolmates who love Zach Efron & Hannah Montana (whom she likes, but states is not near as good as Prince because she lip synchs). This is 1 aspect of Prince's non-cussing that is a major plus. I think exposing our kids, and other young people, 2 the "real music by real musicians" axiom is a great gift. I hope all of your kids enjoy the show...and all of U as well!
