Beverley Knight to play more shows... Worked backstage at the V2007 Festival in Chelmsford all weekend.
Beverley Knight was playing on the stage I was working on Saturday and I had a little chat with her, commenting that her performances at the O2 were great and she seemed really thrilled to be opening for him, and I asked if she was doing anymore and she said "I couldn't possibly confirm that" whilst nodding vigorously and winking a couple of times. Heh. Her tour manager confirmed she definitely is doing more but said they weren't allowed to say which dates. Sinead O'Connor also played the same stage so I got to meer her - and had the pretty unlikely experience of hearing Prince play Nothing Compares 2 U on Tuesday and then Sinead singining it on Saturday. Who's heard them both do it in the same week?  Her Tour Manager was dictating her planned setlist to me before the show and as I wrote doing 'Nothing Compares 2 U' he saw me write it as "2 U" and he goes "you a Prince fan? No-one ever writes it properly anymore!" LOL. He said there had been big rumours going around the organisers that Prince was going to turn up unannounced to perform with Sinead but confirmed to me that that was news to him!!! LOL. I agreed it was about the most unlikely thing I'd heard for a while!
Just a couple of little tidbits for y'all - luckily I saw and met so many other brilliant bands over the weekend I didn't mind missing two of the O2 shows  Tell him u live on a lilypad with a horny toad | |

I don't like Sinead she was in the Daily Mirror before he toured promoting her new stuff by mentioning stories of Prince hitting her, pretty desperate to sell her new stuff if she has to mention stuff like that, true of false! | |

I think she's a great singer, much respect to her and I'd love to see her again! | |
